Bit discovered my stash of kleenex, and he doesn't just stalk 'em.....he totally DISMEMBERS it! I started with a box of about 95 in it....do you know how much "fluff" 95 two ply kleenexes will make? About 3 vacuum canisters full of it! And the stuff sticks to everything!!!!! Needless to say, any more brought into the house in the future will be well hidden away from the Snowmaker! [>:]

Angel's huntress instinct is taking over so much she's even stalking and pouncing on inanimate objects like my shoes! Misty knows to lay low when Angel's in this type of mood so she's not the one being stalked and pounced on.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (3/7/2012 7:55:40 AM)

Bit is constantly stalking something......considering he's got only one eye, he's pretty accurate when it comes to landing on someone....usually KB. I just brought in the groceries, and he's been scootching down behind the bags just waiting for some poor unsuspecting brother to come along....the Princess knows better....smart little cookie that she is!

The Princess is pouting, I put another flea collar on her, and put the powder stuff on her carpet, and I'm going to bomb later if the weather holds out....we have to all get into carriers and sit outside for 2 hours. She's allergic to fleas, apparently, she's digging and scratching and licking her hair off. So I went to the vet and got all the heavy-duty stuff to kill the little bastards. It hasn't frozen here in the past two years, so the flea population has exploded. I have collars, and power and sprays, but it's a battle for sure. Once I'm working again, I'll get someone in here to do the carpets. I comb all of them too, and don't get alot of fleas, but where there's one, there's a hundred. And the landlord even treats the yard or fleas, but they are just awful. A friend suggested putting garlic in their food, I'm going to give that a shot and hope they still eat it.

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (3/7/2012 8:00:06 AM)

garlic kitty vitamins help, but the flea collars/powder, IME haven't been especially effective. Advantage has worked well, for THE CATS, combined with MULTIPLE bombings - as in once the first one has worn off, immediately do another. (plan to spend a night elsewhere - La Quinta is a pet friendly chain, and many Comfort inns are as well).

edited to be clear that I was talking about treatments for the cats. I have not needed flea treatments, myself.

xxblushesxx -> RE: What is your cat doing? (3/7/2012 2:44:48 PM)

Advantage is the thing to get. Don't wait until your pets get fleas; use advantage year round (except when it's freezing) and you'll never have to worry about them. (you also won't need flea collars, flea dips, bombing the house or anything like that if you are faithful to Advantage.)

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (3/7/2012 6:04:58 PM)

Advantage has worked well here, too, even with Angel being an indoor/outdoor cat. She sleeps with me every night (puts her head on my shoulder and curls up against me) and I have never had a flea bite.

As usual when this thread comes waltzing by - Angelina is quietly chasing mice in her dreams, as she slumbers in her heated bed.

A heated bed? What a lucky kitty!

Nah...not lucky, just has her mom well-trained! [:)] My cats have a heated bed too...it's called "mom". Course when they all curl up next to me, it's like I have a huge security blanket.....it makes me sort of wish for cold nights.

yourdarkdesire -> RE: What is your cat doing? (3/8/2012 7:33:29 PM)

We got the heated bed three years ago when her brother was very ill and dying - he wasn't even two yet, and unable to keep his body temp up. So we got the bed, ended up losing him a few days later, and Angelina kinda just moved in. For a while I thought it was because she missed her brother, but now I know its because she likes to be a warm kitty.

And soul - I have HER trained. When I lay down for a nap during the day, I just call out "Angie......Cuddles!!!!" And she is usually curled up in my arms purring withing 5 minutes. [:)]

I wore my glasses to watch TV tonight for the first time in two weeks. I haven't been wearing them that much since I got my contacts. Both kitties took full advantage of the opportunity to rub their whiskers against the glass frames. Not sure why they like doing that so much.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (3/9/2012 11:32:20 AM)

Boozy, mine are so well trained that I don't even have to call.....as soon as I'm prone, I'm inundated with little kitteh bodies. It must be their phychic abilities....they come from other rooms to pile on top of me. I absolutely love it......big, furry balls of love, every one of 'em. (Even if they are couch hogs!)

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (3/9/2012 11:33:50 AM)

Mystic, the only one that loves to spooge my glasses is Squeaks. She'll rub her head and chin and her little wet nose right across them! By the time she's done, I can't see a thing! If I don't have my glasses on, she just butts my chin, but she seems to really enjoy smearing those glasses!

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (3/9/2012 11:58:43 AM)

Cashie just brought me a chirpie.. then promptly dived under the ottoman again. *sigh*

Both of my girls have the eyeglass fetish They're very disappointed I have pretty much gone back to contacts, but look forward to the rare times I go back to the glasses.

Angel is too funny. It rained for a couple of days, so she didn't beg to go outside. Today the rain has stopped, and it's a beautiful, sunny day. She begged to go out, then turned around and dashed back in before I had a chance to close the door. I looked to see if the bothersome boyfriend was in the yard anywhere. I didn't see him. Maybe he's hiding somewhere and she caught his scent. Otherwise, I don't know why she wouldn't want to stay out longer on such a beautiful day, after being inside for so long.

ShaharThorne -> RE: What is your cat doing? (3/11/2012 8:26:35 PM)

Binx is laying on the futon waiting for me to get to on there. She likes to sleep with me at times if I am not kicking in my sleep (or she sleeps at my head).

well surgery went well. i went down to recovery and the surgery got under way at 3:51pm and i was out and back in my room and able to call hubby at 6:45 pm. The surgon came in and talked to me already this morning and said that i can go home, but have to go to her office sometime during the week. other than that all went well. Liproscopic and came out good. the 2 larger incisions hurt more than the smaller ones. I am fixing to work on homework wrap up for last week and such and try to think of how exactly im going to keep mystic off my tummy till the pain heals up other wise she will be on me and kneeding trying to make mommy feel better. this will be interesting when i get home.

Glad to hear your surgery went well.

I know what you mean about cats jumping on tummies. I had abdominal surgery 4 1/2 years ago. I was laying on my back, which is totally different, since I normally lay on my side. Misty was bound and determined to keep jumping right on the site of the surgery and kneeding. I finally had to put a tray on my tummy to keep her off.

She's used to me laying on my side and jumping up on my outer thigh and didn't quite know what to make of my lying on my back, since she had probably never seen me do that before.

Well time to update as im sure everyone here has been worried. I have been busy and am now all healed up from the gallbladder surgery. Mystic stayed off my tummy unlike i thought she would LOL. Other than that they Kittehs have been their normal selves going vroom alot and such. other than that all is well and UM is getting big im at 170 lbs now and ready to have her i have about 6 weeks left before doc. will let me have her. other than that whats up with everyone else?

ShaharThorne -> RE: What is your cat doing? (3/12/2012 3:41:17 PM)
