Boozy, I'm sorry to hear about your baby, too. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you and yours from me and mine to help you in this tough time. I'm sure you've given Angie a great life, and will have the strength to help her cross over when the time comes. We've all gone through this, facing what you are, and while words may not always help, know that we are feeling it right there with you, hun!

So after being apart since November 22nd, my darling furbaby Ruby & I are reunited! She seems to remember the house but due to the renovations is a little confused!

I've received lots of smooches & headbutts which has been lovely. Also did a mini-witching hour attacking the bottom of the bed and trying to climb up a wall.

So happy to have her sleeping on my bed tonight. <3

I'm glad Ruby is finally back where she belongs kitkat.

Soul - I am sorry about Tabby. It is hard when our babies can't tell us there is something wrong, so that by the time we find it it is too late.

We have talked about why Angie is in kidney failure, and cancer is definitely one of the options. I watched my Mom go thru the chemo thing, not once, but three times. There is just no way I could do that to my baby, when she is not capable of understanding why, or what good it might do, She is on the k/d diet now, and there are a couple of supplements that look like they might make a different. We are going to monitor her BUN and creatinine on a regular basis, just to see how she is doing. That is as invasive as I am willing to go.

well i think midnight officially hates me cuz he has his first collar now and well lets just say hes been bonzing the house like crazy and trying to take the bell off LOL. Mystic is loving it because now she knows when hes comming and she has her new collar on too but well Midnight is hating it because unless mystic gets going good her bell hardly ever rings so he is hating that. This is mystic's second collar with a bell LOL.

Other than that all is well.

s2s - so sorry to hear about Tabby.

EP - what kind of collars did you get that stay on? I want to put a collar on Angel because she's outside part time. I've tried five or six different collars. They are all break-away and she gets out of them in less than 10 minutes. I'm reluctant to use a collar that isn't breakaway for fear it will get caught on something.

Speaking of Angel, she was not living up to her name and just got sprayed with the water bottle. Misty was with me in the office and wanted to go out into the dining room, but Angel attacked her and ended up getting sprayed good. Usually she's good around me when the water bottle is nearby, but today she slipped up royally.

Getting sprayed yesterday gave Angel just the reality check she needed. She has been very nice to Misty all weekend after that. The two of them lay side by side sunning themselves beneath the dining room window for several hours today with no skirmishes. She even "let" Misty sleep on the bed with us the entire night last night without chasing her off after I fell asleep.

Poor Misty is so embarassed. She saw a plastic bag on the table and tried to jump up to check it out, but lost her footing. She took a rather clumsy spill. Angel was right there and smirked at her for being a clutz. Misty went and hid.

Pearl & Weenie are happily munching away on some lovely steamed asparagus, which I bought on sale yesterday.

Ruby has settled back in nicely. I think she does remember I'm her mummy. There is an endless supply of smooches & headbutts.

just had a big scare with Cashie. Treated him with Vectra, and took him to the vet. Vet asures me it's just a reaction to the TASTE not the med (little monster squirmed as I applied it and licked the med).

WIll pick him up later after a nice, cool bath (for him, not me). AMos is yelling at me (my nice, ever so quiet AMos..LOL)

That's great Greedy! Glad the little mons...er, kitteh is fine! I've been giving Squeaks benedryl for her flea allergy, and when she screws around and doesn't swallow it, she just literally foams saliva in huge amounts. She's learned to hold it in her mouth even tho I'm holding it closed and massaging her throat, then spit it out. I know from experience that the pills are bitter tasting. I wish I could bathe her, it'd help her skin feel so much better, but short of knocking her furry butt out, I'm not going to try that again!

well i got the like cart buckle type breakaways from petco that came in a set of 2 for like 10 bucks, But unfortunately midnight figured out a way to get it off with his bottom jaw because of a leway that the collar has so i gotta do some fixing before i can put it on him again other than that they stay on them fairly well.

have you tried the liquid benedryl maybe using a dropper to put it in the back of her throat and squirting it down her throat might work?

Just a thought.

I acutally have the liquid, but for some reason, finding a medicine dropper is like trying to find hen's teeth! Of course, when I didnt' need one, I saw them everywhere, butnow that I need one, I can't find one at all!

If you can't find a dropper, you could always buy a syringe from a vet or pharmacy. That way you can squirt it pretty far back. Unfortunately some cats are just naughty when it comes to meds.

I left a small piece of hot cross bun to see what Ruby would do. In true Maine Coon style she keeps touching it with her paw then licking her paw. TOO CUTE!

Hmmm, I think that's one of the types I bought for her that she figured out how to get out of. I'll look again when I'm at Petco, though.

Mystic, maybe it would just be easier to chip her? I'm also leery of putting collars on a cat that goes outside at all, for the same reason you are.

My kittehs are losing all their playground space...I'm moving out of my huge, wonderful apartment at the end of the month...I just can't afford it anymore. They are getting a patio though, once I get it closed in. It only has a little 3' fence around it, and they'd sail right over that. There's still running room, but it's around in a circle instead of straight lines. It's in a complex with a management compnay, so the personal touch is gone, but I'll make do. I have to cut costs someplace, and rent is the biggest outlay right now.

I'll be returning to here tho to make sure the outside kittehs get fed...I am SUCH a freaking sucker!

Yes, chipping is a possible idea. I do like the visual affect of a collar to let people know she has an owner. However, that may not be a possibility, since she seems to be able to get out of any break-away collar I've come across so far.

They were both super-annoying this evening. I was in a deep meditation and they both came running across my lap, snarling. I think Misty may have been sitting on my chair and Angel decided to chase her. Normally, Angel would not have pulled that with me right in the room, but she will try things when she thinks I'm asleep. Maybe I was meditating so deeply she thought I was sleeping.
