how cute....what I can see, the pic's sort of small. But really, Greedy, wouldn't Cashie just LOVE a buddy????? 2, 3, 5...trust me once you get more than one, it's all the same!

Plus, it would be nice to know there's another sucker in the world who just can't say no!

Mystic, when I left for work this morning, the last little kitten was playing with something in the driveway....I thought it was a twig or something...when he picked it up to move, I realized it was a baby snake.....quite dead. It's the first sign of a snake I've seen in the 2 years I've been here.....lots of leezards, many without tails, but no snakes. I don't think the kitten was planning on eating it, it was just a cool toy.

Yeah, I have lived here 18 years and haven't seen snakes, with the exception of a large snake I saw in the road a few years ago. There seem to be a lot of them this year. The geckos, which Angel loves to chase, haven't come out yet, so she's amusing herself with the snakes in the meantime. Fine, as long as they STAY OUTSIDE, lol.

My two boys have been having a ball all weekend. On Friday I received a box that was packed with a length of brown paper.

My kitties have been playing with the brown paper ever since. It's a nest, it's a stealth tunnel, plus it's crinkly noise is kinda scary.

They love it. Last night I tossed a tiny catnip pillow into the fray.

Like all cats, they loooooove the pricey toys.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/17/2012 9:46:08 AM)

Well, I just called to get Bit done.....I actually qualify for the procedure to be done free, since I'm unemployed. He's not going to be happy....I put a flea collar on him last night.....and spent 15 minutes adding insult to injury....he was doing that backstroke step they have when they try to back out of collars......then he got caught in the handle of a shopping bag and that skeered him even more. I usually give him one of his own and cut the handles and hide the rest, otherwise, he's in plastic bag heaven, and I'm picking up shredded bags for days!

It's a good thing he loves me.....I hope! He's had a rough start, what with the eye and all, and now I'm divesting him of his harballs.......poor dude! That's okay, KB will be here to nurse him again.

I got the generic of Frontline for Squeaks...that stuff is working like you wouldn't believe! She's not scratching at her neck, and she's healing already. I hope her hair starts to grow back soon, she lost the longer, finer hair that Maine Coons have on her tail and the mane around her neck. She's not gnawing on herself , and she comes out of the bedroom. I've never had a cat allergic to fleas before, so this is all new. I'm moving, and they'll have a patio to play on, it's half cement, half ground, I'm going to put cedar chips down on the ground part, they're supposed to keep fleas away. Why the patio isn't all cement, I have no idea, but I'm going to screen it in so they can go outside and be safe. It has a small 4' fence around it, but that's pretty much useless when you have cats. But some poles and screen shouldn't cost me that much. I finally got a full time job....not paying much, but it'll do for now. Plus I'll be cutting my expenses in this smaller place.

I gave up a looooong time ago on buying cat toys.....they'd just la there, strung out all over the place, while KB was chasing milk jug rings, Boo was chasing pistachio nuts (he liked the "tink" sound they make on tile...he won't play with them now since I have carpet!), and Smooch loves his ping pong balls. Squeaks doesn't play with toys, and Bit has this "O" ring that came from someplace that is his absolute favrit toy in the world. He'll play with that thing for hours...literally!

I do have a crinkly tunnel that they boys play in occasionally. And one fo those little ring around the rosy ball things, but they mostly just sit on the floor unused.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/17/2012 6:17:27 PM)

Well, Misty evidently favors store brands. I have been buying Precious reduced fat string cheese for years. She'll beg for it, but always turns it down. I was at Albertson's the other night and they didn't have that brand, so I bought the store brand, and she loves it! Go figure.

I heard a news feature on one of our local news radio stations this morning about snakes. They said that conditions are very favorable here for snakes this year, with the mild winter and wet spring we've had. I wasn't happy to hear that, but Angel was.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/18/2012 3:03:29 PM)

Angel might be the only one glad to hear that bit of news.

Right now, KB is eyeing the whipped cream on my strawberries, but he's too lazy to walk over and get it....I'm getting the "MOOOOO-OOOOOOM, bring it HERE" look from him. It's my own fault for spoiling him, but sometimes, it just ain't gonna happen!

Tomorrow's the day for Bit to get neutered.......this poor little guy isn't going to ever get into a carrier again...last time he went to the vet's was for his eye, and now this, the greatest of "injuries". But considering that it only took him about 48 hours after the eye surgery to be back to his old self, this shouldn't be as bad. (Easy for me to say, I don't have nuts!) I'll just give him a little extra lovin'. And some mackeral.....I got some canned stuff to see if they'd eat it, just something different from the cat food, since they aren't eating it like they used too. I hope that adding a bit of variety will get them eating the cat food a little better again. Otherwise, it back to Fancy Feast, and quite frankly, that shit's EXPENSIVE! Ounce for ounce, the canned mackerel is cheaper. ANd probably better for them.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/18/2012 7:32:50 PM)

I am in a quandry....Bit can't have anything after midnight, but I have 4 other guys who might get hungry. Do I pick up the food and deal with those consequences, or do I put Bit in a carrier and make him spend all night in it then have to do the whole harballs thing tomorrow? I'm really afraid of him developing a serious aversion to the carrier...he's tough enough to get in and keep him there as it is. I guess I'll pick up the food and take my chances. If you never hear from me again, look for the kitteh prints on the murder weapon, k?

I just fed them all some salmon, which was met with mixed results, and they are all sprawled out, except for Moochie, who is talking to someTHING (I HOPE!) that only he can see. Otherwise, I have a spirit floating around by the ceiling.

kitkat105 -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/18/2012 8:12:51 PM)

So Ruby and Ollie (my parents Ragdoll) have become acquainted. I think it's a mixture of fear and curiousity. We let them out together inside while someone is home and there is the odd growl/hiss but for the most part they are keeping to themselves.

another1harder -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/18/2012 11:26:44 PM)

I love cats. I have had hundreds of them. (Just a joke people. Not true.)

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/19/2012 3:13:16 PM)

OK, I realize that kittehs are relatively intelligent, and mine seem to understand much of what I say...they may not listen, but they understand. But puh-leeeeze!!! I picked Bit up from his neutering today, and the girl told me not to let him run, jump or play for 7-10 days......he didn't even make 7-10 minutes! he's been chasing Squeaks around, and running around in general. I'm sure I looked at her like "Are you NUTS?", but didn't say it. I've told him at least 4 times that he needs to be quiet and rest.....I swear, the third time I saw him roll his little eye at me and snort!

Considering that he was back to his old self 2 days after losing his eye in surgery, a little neutering ain't gonna slow him down. I gave him a shot of his pain meds hoping it might at least make him drowsy enough to sleep, but so far.....nada. Nuttin' but ~ZOOM!~

I dont know what my kittehs are up to nor what they will think when mommy returns home with a soft belly and the UM that was inside out of it LOL.

other than that all is well

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/21/2012 4:49:07 PM)

The kittehs are loving the fact that I decided to take a break from my contacts and wear my glasses today and tomorrow. They just love rubbing their whiskers up against the frame. I also think they enjoy making it difficult for me to watch TV by dislodging my glasses so I can't see and have to put them back in place.

LadyRedRoseToo -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/21/2012 5:10:36 PM)

my four are happily sprawled all over the living room after filling their bellies. nothing like a sleeping smiling kitty!

edited for stupid typos!

kittenheels43 -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/22/2012 11:26:35 AM)

Mittenz is being a draught excluder by my bedroom doorway, except the door is wide open, so she ain't excluding anything!

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/22/2012 3:11:10 PM)

Angel is carousing around outside. Hope she doesn't find anything to catch. Misty is snoozing away in peace.

Boudica -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/22/2012 3:13:08 PM)

One is napping on the couch cushion behind me, curled up against my shoulder. The other is at her outpost on the air conditioner protecting my yard from any nefarious lizards or crickets that might try to attack in the dead of day.

Thanks Mystic. I am recovering well and once the UM is cleared we will all be going home.
