Of course she does....you must have missed that fine print in the slave's...erm...kitteh owner's manual! [:D]

Mine were pouting earlier...they had to tear out the wall to fix a water pipe, so I put KB, Bit and Squeaks in the bedroom for the day......they had their potty box in the bathroom, but I forgot to leave dry food down. The indignity was being locked up all day, even tho they probably just slept. But when the maintenance guy described what they'd be doing, it sounded like they were going to rip out the outside wall, and I didn't want anyone sneaking out....Smooch and Boo hid in the closet or someplace. The other 3 would've been right in the middle of everything...especially KB...any kind of container, bag, box, or tool box that comes into his house gets a thorough inspection, and he's been known to "help" during projects.

But I fed them two cans of food, and they got toona jooce from my salad, so I'm forgiven. (I hope!)

I used to have a kitty that enjoyed "helping" during projects. I eventually just had to put her in another room whenever any type of repairman came into the house. One time, a guy came in to do repairs and climbed up a ladder. There was kitty, climbing the ladder with him. On other occasions, she took tools out of repairman's tool boxes and tried to run off with them. I kept a careful eye on her so she didn't get away with it. A guy was stooped over fixing the plumbing, and she jumped on his back. It was just easier to keep her in another room, and I'm sure the repairmen appreciated it.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (6/13/2012 3:28:20 PM)

Yep, KB is Mr. Johnny on the spot when the repair guys show up. And that's help they don't need!

Right now, KB is cleaning up my bowl from my macaroni salad. Loves the stuff! I have to make sure he's not eating it with me......if I put the bowl down and walk away, he's face down in it when I get back. He scarfs my ice cream the same way. They figure if I'm not near it, it's fair game. Stinkers!

Mr. Whiskers has been after me to make him gravy. I let him have my crusts from the pizzas, especially the chicken ones. Guess I have to go get some gizzards tomorrow after PT so he can get some attention from me.

Today we were staining the front deck railings and he almost got painted on. Mom had to shoo him away (I tossed him some bread, that greedy minx!).

My Poupée-Chat is sleeping on my left arm: I have to type using my right hand only ;)

kitkat105 -> RE: What is your cat doing? (6/13/2012 7:27:58 PM)

Curled up next to me while I had a pre-work nap. She's purring and making cute sleepy noises.

I really I didn't have to get up & go to work!

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (6/14/2012 4:47:47 PM)

Yeah, Kit, and when you do get up, she's going to crawl over into the warm spot! Adding insult to injury! Kittehs are ebil like that!

Here is a pic of Misty at the vet today with the nice bandana they gave her there. She was totally unthrilled. The vet ran some blood tests on her due to her age (16 1/2). Even though she doesn't have any symptoms, she has the beginning stages of kidney failure. I will need to put her on a different type of food. She will also need subcutaneous fluids.

he was 15 .... and he passed away ... peacefully in his sleep ....

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (6/17/2012 9:50:14 AM)

Cashie is constipated (I HOPE that's all it is). Tomorrow morning I will be going to work (I'm off tonight) to get a pint of milk or two to see if that helps. I hope it does, because I don't get paid until Friday.
Amos was the rambunctious one this morning!! LOL

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (6/17/2012 12:23:33 PM)

Darn Misty....Angel was sleeping soundly and I was going to sneak up on her and give her an Advantage treatment. When I opened the package of Advantage, Misty thought I was opening a package of food and came running into the kitchen meowing loudly. That of course woke Angel up and she came running into the kitchen too. Now I'm going to have to wait for my next "window of opportunity" to give Angel her Advantage treatment. For a 16 1/2 year old cat, Misty sure does have good hearing. Better than 6-year old Angel's, I think.

BurntKitty -> RE: What is your cat doing? (6/17/2012 12:30:46 PM)

At the moment Cossette is sneaking potato chips out of my bowl. She uses a paw to 'steal' one, takes it in her mouth & eats it in another room. I guess she thinks I can't hear her crunching it.

Kaliko -> RE: What is your cat doing? (6/17/2012 1:43:45 PM)

....ugh. My cats are gross lately. I don't even want to tell you what they're doing.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (6/17/2012 3:33:56 PM)

Mystic, I hope things go okay w/Misty. And same to you, Greedy. It sucks when your babies are sick, and having to wait for the paycheck thing is something I know all too well.

My beasties are just hanging out, playing rug. Earlier, KB and Bit were literally doing laps around the apartment, which was okay until KB decided that he was going to take a "shortcut" over the couch......which I was on at the time.....nothing like 8 feet charging across your body! Yeah, they thought that was REAL funny! NOT!!!! It's like living with a bunch of two year olds! [>:]

Thanks for the well wishes, s2s. And hope Cashie's problem is only constipation, Greedy.

I am still in a state of shock about Misty's blood work, since she does not exhibit even one single symptom of renal failure. I only went along with the vet's recommendation to do the bloodwork because of her age, but didn't really expect to find anything significant, since she is perky, eats and drinks normally, and appears fine in every way. When the vet examined her, he even did a double take when he saw her age on her chart. He thought she was less than half that age.

I am picking up her new prescription food tomorrow morning at the vet's and will see how she does on that. It will be a challenge to keep Angel out of that food because she's such a voracious eater. I have an appointment for Angel's annual exam on 6/30 and the vet said they can teach me to do Misty's subcutaneous treatments then. I am also giving Misty Reiki treatments whenever she will sit still long enough.

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (6/18/2012 7:47:32 AM)

got some milk from a neighbor yesterday, and gave a bit to the boy. He seems a bit more... comfy.. today. He has pooped a couple of times that I can be sure of, and he's not walking all hunched up like he was. He is back on station in the window, and actually woke me up with his purrs and whiskers this morning!! I'll be keeping an eye on him to make sure he's peeing too.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (6/18/2012 3:40:19 PM)

That's great news, Greedy. And Mystic, at least since she's not showing symptoms, she's not in pain, right? with the right diet and care, she should still have some years left.

My oldest is KB and he's 13 now. Still running around like the kitten he thinks he is, I think that having Bit around makes him feel "young" again. The middle boys are.....wow, 10 years old, and Squeaks is about 4. Bitty is coming up on his first birthday, sometime around the end of August. The boys have been all over the country, Squeaks came from Arizona, and Bitty is the local kitteh. 4 of the 5 are rescues, KB was a barn kitteh. I don't know what I'd do without them......they keep me sane.

1. they are not babies, they are cats

2. they did not find it funny, stop anthropomorphasing them

No, she does not appear to be in pain at all. I picked up the new canned food at the vet's this morning. Thankfully, Misty loves it....and unfortunately, so does Angel. It's VERY pricey and while it won't hurt Angel, it's not suited to her needs at all. I will need to stop off at the grocery store and get Angel some canned food that's less pricey and better for her. They're like little kids and insanely jealous of one another. Whatever one gets, the other MUST get. So if Misty is getting prescription canned food, Angel sure as hell better get canned food, too, even though there's no medical reason for it, like with Misty.

I tried to get Angel to go outside so I could feed Misty alone, but she wouldn't budge. Usually she practically knocks me down to get outside when I get home from work, but tonight she flatly refused to go out. The a/c went out today, so it's actually cooler outside, and she still didn't want to go. I didn't see the bothersome boyfriend, but he may have been there earlier and she could have picked up his scent.
