MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/26/2010 3:48:12 PM)

The vet's office called today to see how Lily was after her appointment.  I'm glad they did not drop her as a patient after what she did to the vet on Saturday.

She has decided that she likes my office chair.  I have had to evict her from it at least six times today.  Even if I get up to get a glass of water, she gets into my chair.  She may have slept there last night, as I had to shoo her off the first thing this morning.

Mystic, trust me, if just scratching and hissing was all they had to deal with, that was easy.....my parent's cat Annie was a holy terror at the vet's.  She'd start with an unearthly growling as soon as they hit the parking lot, and trying to get her out of the carrier was a total nightmare...then they'd stuff her into a thick canvas bag if they could, otherwise , it took 4 people plus my mom to handle her....Annie was declawed, but she could bite like a frickin' Rottweiler!  We're talking stiches here......and when they were done and tried to put her back into the carrier, it was like Sylvester in the doorframe...Annie wanted blood, and she wasn't going to go back in til she got it!  And bless them, the vet's would go thru this every 6 months, and as she aged, whenever she got ill.

Unfortunately, the only time she was put in the carrier was when she went to the vet...any other time, she just had her leash, and she'd ride in my dad's lap looking out the window.  Mom was always scared that she'd try to make a break for it if they didn't crate her for the vet's trip, and the vet's was on a busy street.  Plus she'd probably attack the poor unsuspecting dogs inside the office!

Binx is in the corner next to the computer desk, sleeping.  I don't have to wake her up in about an hour.

Compared to Annie, Lily doesn't sound so bad.  Yeah, she hissed at the vet, then lashed out and scratched him and drew blood.  The vet gave me quite a dirty look, but I'm sure they've seen worse.  I noticed they had a "bad kitty" warning sticker on her file, so it wasn't entirely unexpected.  She definitely behaves worse when the vet is a male, I've noticed.  Last year, the vet was a young woman and she behaved perfectly for her.  The year before that, I think it was a male vet and that earned her the sticker on her file.

The other kitty's appointment is coming up and she is always well-behaved, fortunately.

OMFG!!!!!  OMFG!!!!!  Two of them just tried to "help" me in killing the biggest f-ing roach I've ever seen in my life.  OMFG!!!!  OMFG!!!!  The only problem was they kept getting in the way!  I pounded the hell out of it with a can of cat food, and even after I broke it into two pieces, the bastard was STILL kicking!!!!!  OMFG!!!!  OMFG!!!!!!!

Mystic, the vet's that worked with Annie all had heavy canvas gloves....they wouldn't touch her without them on!  She was by far the worst we've ever had......all the staff knew Annie by reputation, so when Mom called to make an appointment, she said you could just hear the groan in their voices!

ShaharThorne -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/26/2010 6:53:55 PM)

They are called Palmetto or Water roaches.  I encountered quite a few when I was living in New Orleans.

For some reason, they are just hard to kill.  One even had the nerve to watching me while I was showering.  The entire block wanted to know who the hell was the screamer.

WolfeTone -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/26/2010 7:01:40 PM)

Oh God, sewer roaches. Arizona is known for it's heat and irrigation, and it brings the bastards out in force. I told one poster on here, one of my cats caught one in my apartment, roughed it up a bit, and then brought into bed with me, still alive mind you, as a gift. Worse gift I've ever received.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/26/2010 7:20:16 PM)

I don't know what the heck it was, other than 2 inches long with huge antennae and wings.......and ST and Wolfe, if my cats ever brought me one of those, the whole damn STATE would be calling 911 for a woman screaming......not to mention the LL would be repairing the hole in the wall where I vacated the bedroom in my blind panic!

<-------She who does NOT do bugs!!!!!

edited cuz I can't do the heebie jeebie dance and type at the same time......

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/27/2010 7:46:58 AM)

Butterfly, at least yours is looking at something....my kittehs think it's funny to freak out Mom by looking across the room, or out of the room, or down the hallway intently like there's a ghost out there or something.....ghost, serial killer, axe murderer.....and they seem to do it after I've watched a scary movie......little snots!

bestheadyet -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/27/2010 7:52:38 AM)

gracie has a scratching pad......that i got her when i first adopted her. i shortly got her front nails done so now she lays on it.....about 5 inches wide......like its a skinny bed for her. or shes just in mourning for her front claws....who knows lol

sleazybutterfly -> RE: What is your cat doing? (4/27/2010 8:03:14 AM)

haha..mine haven't figured that one out yet. My best friend, I think her dogs have got it down though, the lil one will go to the door at night and bark, scares the crap out of us.

I think the problem with my Spook is that he doesn't know if he is a cat or a dog...too much time around the pug I believe.

Pandalion is sleeping. She's had a hard night chasing and depositing her fuzzy mice all over the house. (it's quite tiring, but it's her job.)

Melanie is sleeping. She is 17 and a night owl. She's also a bit of an alkie (hence her nickname secret scarlet) but did not tie one on last night. (as I didn't drink anything. *lol*)

He who must be named is still with his mama. I want him NOW!!!
