AlexandraLynch -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/10/2009 6:24:12 PM)

The Siamese female is asleep on the dining room table.
The DSH black male is asleep in my roommate's clean laundry (I told him this would happen...)
The Angora red tabby female is out on the "cat deck", a platform about three feet by two that sticks out of the office window and is framed and covered top and sides with chicken wire and window screening. Access is through a panel in the window with a cat door in it. She is probably asleep too.

I don't know why cats love to sleep on my laptop carrying case.  I thought my cat was the only one that did it, but I was over at a co-workers house tonight to work on a project, and her kitty curled right up on my laptop carrying case and slept the whole time I was over there.

Chaseing a moth around the room currently...its rather spectacular

Adian has been given much love, and thank you for the comment on my pic. Our dearest Sex God stole it from his phone and edited it for me :)

Two are asleep on top of the monitor (big surprise there). I have given up the fight on that. And my big baby is mad at me at the moment because we just gave him some medicine. I keep getting the 'Just wait till you go to sleep tonight' look.

Interesting.  Guess this is the first carrying case type of thing I have left out and Lily takes full advantage of it.  She gave me quite the attitude today when I had to  kick her off her new "sofa" so I could put my laptop back and go to work.

I think theyre plotting something... it's too quiet....

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/12/2009 10:36:18 PM)

Kitty #1 rubbed her whiskers against the frames of my glasses while I was watching TV.  Not sure why, but she loves to do that.

Kitty #2 is sleeping peacefully on top of the dryer atop some folded towels I hadn't put away yet.

Kitty #3 is prowling around the neighborhood.

SweetPoosy -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/12/2009 11:16:31 PM)

Here we go...
Hobbes is trying to push me off the computer chair
Calvin is lying in wait for me to go to bed
Spud is sleeping on the couch
Stinky is sprawled on the living room floor
Little Boy is guarding the front porch
Ysabella is trying to sneak into the front of the house...unsuccessfully
Zipper is hiding upstairs
Porsche is hoping that feeding time for elderly cats is nigh
And Bruiser, who isn't really my cat, is sneaking in for some dry food.

Yeah. I'm the Crazy Cat Lady of my town.

Gracious is giving Amos the evil eye cause Amos has taken over possession of the carrier.    Amos: the cat that I need to recruit another warm body to get her stuffed into the carrier,,, and I'm running out of gullible frien....erm ...victims....

A trick for you one of our vets taught us.  If it's one of the hard case type carriers, set it on its end so the opening is up, lift the cat, and essentially drop him in.  Makes it sooooo much easier on the humans.  Even if the cat thinks that the human is an asshole for it. ;)

Yeah, riiiiight......I've NEVER had this one work.......it;s all 4 paws latched onto the outside of the door, and the cat turning himself inside out in his skin........and the whole "drop him in" thing?????  No thank you......KB spent the whole entire time in the carrier plotting his revenge.......I've never known that cats can puke on command, but boy......he can!

As for what they are doing...well, since I'm doing laundry, the 4 of them are curled up on various warm piles of it.....the 3 dark ones are on my whites shedding, and Squeaks is on all my darks adding her hair.  In this house, no outfit is complete without the cat hair!

bbwbutterfly -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/13/2009 12:29:58 PM)

soul2share - I know what you mean about the finishing touches to an outfit. I have the hardest time just trying to fold the laundry out of the basket without them trying to get into it. Its like a cat magnet.

Greedy - another possible trick to the cat carrier... start leaving it out so they get used to it. Mine used to freak out and hide from me when I would bring the carriers out of the closet. Now I have to actually leave the hard carrier out for them to take turns sleeping in or on top of. They love playing in it. Now I have no trouble getting any of them to go into it whenever I need them to.

Sasha is eating rice off my chest.

China is crouched in my doorway.

What a funny topic! I'm loving all of these.

sweetsub1957 -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/13/2009 2:21:09 PM)

Blackie is sitting on the living room floor staring me down.  He's definitely Dom.  I'm totally convinced that, in the animal world, cats are Dom/mes and dogs are subs/slaves.  lmao

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/14/2009 7:18:46 PM)

My new printer just made one of my kitty's day.  Printers fascinate her.  She loves the sound and watching the paper come out.  If I'm not looking, she has even been known to run off with documents from the output tray.

GoddessImaginos -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/14/2009 7:26:57 PM)

George and Sunshine: on the back of My computer chair.
Penelope: observing the kitty in the mirror.
Max: studiously watching the bedroom window in case his hummingbird comes back to sniff My rosebush.
Tigro: making sure My basket of laundry is, well, safe I guess.
Suki: knocking over empty soda bottles.
Serious Cat (yes, that's her name, due to her permanent facial expression): yawning and stretching
Astro (either father or grandfather to all of the above): out on his usual summerlong hiatus, when he doesn't come home for weeks at a time.

Yes, I have eight cats. I have done animal rescue and similar service to the children of Bastet and the animal nation at large for all of My life, since My first kitten, an orange tabby who toddled over and climbed in My mother's pocketbook, selected Me when I was two.
Currently I also have four white rats and a female Mallard duck. Earlier this summer I also had a snake, a baby robin and a newborn racoon. We are also the people that get called when you have critters compromising your living space, destroying your property or getting after your livestock, perhaps.

..and the bois wonder why I can't take a live-in slave.. [8|]
