My ginger boy just fell off the window sill..He loves to have a lie on that little sill but now looked pretty scared when he realised he lost his balance...lol, he might learn not to move too much on there when he is roaming in dreamland... lucky him he felt towards spicys beanbag...therefore...soft [:D]

One of my kitties is now lying on top of my folder of bills.  Now if I could only get her to pay them, LOL.

Phoenixpower -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/29/2009 6:16:22 AM)

Well, yesterday my lil birman girl summer moved in (the name summer was given to her and I decided now to leave her with that name....one day her daughter will receive my desired name *lol*) and since then my little furry gang changed a bit their behaviour...my girl pepper who was never keen on going outside enjoys it now much more being outside (Hello??? Because of your reluctance AND anxiety to go outside I got summer in the first place[8|]).

However, Curry and Pepper greeted her with their hissing...and Spicy stayed out of it so far and did not introduce himself. Yesterday  at some point my 3 other cats were lieing outside in the frontgarden, which felt like a complott, kind of "we sulk..we don't have to come in when you brought another furry into our place..."

So I guess they told spicy about her...and so far the boys did not come back today...but well, they will once they are hungry...pepper still goes more outside then usual at the moment but starts to calm down and comes more inside again...

so here is some a "time to adapt phase" going on...

Summer, my birman girl, hides herself at times and when she feels bored that I don't search her (as I have enough other things to do) then she miaows...waiting for me to call her that then she comes out of her hiding place...cats [8|]

*Somebody* pressed the whacky cat button, and now they are running around trilling, and bouncing off the furniture, and in general going nuts.

A new day has dawned, both their people are up, and life is GOOOOOOOD.

My cat is hiding from the new dog, he is an American Foxhound, he likes the cat, but the cat is 15 years old and likes to be independent.

Nice; I've known a number of older cats and they're always such a trip to know. Oldest of My acquaintance: not one but two cats, one belonging to My cousins (so I can verify the age on this one), and the other to a friend from college; both cats attained their 22nd birthdays before they left this world, and My cousin's cat, whose name was originally Patches but she lived so long her vet and everyone else started calling her Grammaw, actively went outside and hunted until the last six months or so of her life (when she'd gone deaf enough that it was no longer safe).

now my little one is successfully hiding herself as I haven't got a clue where she is gone. Due to some cleaning here I moved all the furniture in my bedroom but she is nowhere to be found...thank goodness my windows are shut, otherwise I would be nervous now that she got outside [&o] but at least pepper got a bit calmer now and I am still waiting for the boys to come home...cats [8|]

My outdoor boy kitty finally came home for a meal yesterday night.  One of the indoor girls is sleeping on my bed.  The other is sleeping on my meditation chair, which she is going to get kicked off of in a minute because I want to go meditate.

Didnt you know that cats can make themselves invisible at will?

ShellyD -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/29/2009 11:15:38 PM)

My Lolly-cat is in heat....I had her booked in for spaying last month but my daughter thought she was pregnant so we cancelled it (she was a rescue)

Her behaviour is pathetic, amorous with grandchildrens toys, really sooky with me, jumping on the table/benches even though she knows that is verbotten....crying and running from window to window when the neighborhood tom is around....really strange behaviour.

Can anyone tell me how long a heat lasts? How often they cycle? any other info would be appreciated. At least I can now go ahead with the spaying knowing for sure she is not pregnant as she does not go outside ever. Thanks.[:o]

um, keep....I hate to burst your bubble....but the only "submissive" kitty is a stuffed one!  It is YOU who will be the submissive in any kitteh relationship......[8|]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/30/2009 10:39:17 PM)

Phoenix, I've learned that when I can't locate my kittehs to look UP.....they are hiding in plain sight on top of hte cabinets......I'll call and call and call, be pulling things out of the closets, moving furniture, opening cupboards...they NEVER answer me!  About the time I start to panic and think they snuck out on me, I'll catch them out of the corner of my eye.....I swear, they are sitting up there snickering and laughing at their crazy mom.....it's like living with a bunch of 2 year olds....

And when I put the first box together to night to pack, KB was right there for it.....the little idjit has almost been packed in boxes so many times, you would htink he'd know not to get inside....of course, I've learned to look before I seal up the top......he got in one tub once, got closed inside, and then I put three more boxes on top of it....he went nutso when he couldn't get out...the whole stack was moving around!  And when I opened the box, he popped out....and jumped right into the next box I was working on.....he's such a man...never learns a thing!  [8D]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/30/2009 10:41:58 PM)

Shelly, you can take her in any time now....the length of time varies with cats...I had one female that came into heat and STAYED there!  I wasn't able to get her to the vet's for a week...OMG!!!!!  The moaning was unreal!  Vets will spay a female in heat, it doesn't have anything to do with the surgery.  Do it fast.....a determined female will go right thru a window screen, and an even more determined tom will definitely try to get inside.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/30/2009 10:44:30 PM)

My boss watches my cats when I go out of town on vacation...she fell in love w/KB....enough that she got her own kitten.  She has two boxers...and Trapper has adopted Sherman as his own.  And Sherman apparently has no fear of them, either....I saw video of him attacking both boxers when he wasn't much bigger than a minute!  He'd jump on their heads, give them a nip and take off.....she says he keeps her laughing all the time.  So much for her not being a "cat person"!

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/31/2009 5:15:50 PM)

I put out a bowl of food for my outside kitty last night.  I made sure to fill the bowl so he could come back for snacks because I'd like to see him put on some weight.  I opened my door to take the trash out last night, and another large, overweight kitty was finishing off his food.  No wonder Dusty stays so thin.
