Mystic, what sweet little furbabies!

Smooch has issues like Angel and Lily....he keeps trying to attack Squeaks.  However, Squeaks is getting braver, and she actually swatted him last night......he walked by her and she just reached out and "BAP!"....scared the crap outta Smooch, and of course, I didn't help any by laughing at him.  He stalked off all bent out of shape, the only thing injured was his pride.  She's been doing this to both Boo and Smooch now that she's as big as they are.  They hurt her a few times when she first joined us.....and like any woman, she hasn't forgotten it!

Thanks, s2s.

It's good to hear that Squeaks is standing up for herself!  Maybe she will teach those boys a lesson.

Ah, there is the Lily's nemisis. Love all that white fur, she is too cute to be bad, lol. Poor MsLily, has to share her couch now. Abba does not share the couch, but the boys do what she tells them.

And the senior, how precious, WOW, 15 years old. Now that is a testament to your care of her.

Thank you Mystic for sharing your furbabies, they are each one a dear.

Thanks, Hen.

Yes, Angel does look to cute too be bad, but she does have those two bad behaviors--stalking and pouncing at Lily, and killing all the poor innocent lizards in the garden.  She's shown a lot of improvement on the first, but I don't have the time or energy to stand outside and work with her on the second.  Other than that, she's a really good cat.  Whoever had her before trained her well.  As soon as I brought her in the house, she immediately found and began using the litter box, has never scratched the furniture, and doesn't jump up on counters.  And she's very affectionate :)

Yeah, Lily is bent out of shape about sharing the sofa (and anything else) with Angel.  She just finds any room other than the one Angel's in and hangs out there.  She likes my home office a lot, and Angel practically never comes in here (only to rub her cold wet nose against my leg to let me know she wants to go outside).

Misty accidentally escaped from the house and was lost for one month several years ago.  Many people told me to give up on the cat, but I never did.  After a month, I got her back and have been able to spend many more years with her.  Unfortunately, Lily started attacking her after she returned home.  Lily doesn't like Angel stalking her, but what she did to Misty was much worse--she would actually attack her.  That's why I keep her in a separate area.

Yes, they are all dear fur babies :)

What precious kitty-babies, Mystic!!! [sm=hearts.gif]

Bubby-kitty was just laying on the bed next to Thing 2, got all crazy about being loved on, rolled over without thinking, and fell onto the floor with a "blink-blink" look that was just too funny. [:D]

Thanks, DRH!

My cat is hiding.

My kitty is laying upside down under the dining table, properly buzzed on a new catnip toy. [:)]

Stop getting the cats stoned...take pics when it is appropriate so we can laugh at them...

I did not copy or quote, I just wanted to say to all how much fun the photos are and how much I love hearing all the babies stories, as well as being able to share my own. Thank you one and all.

My cat is right here watching me online.

Angel spent the day outdoors.  Probably the last nice day in a while, as we have some nasty weather on the way.  Of course, Lily was thrilled to have the house to herself all day.

Angel was so cute.  I sat in the chair tonight, and she got up on the back behind me.  Everytime I tried to get up, she reached out and clawed my sweater, trying to keep me sitting down.  Finally, I told her to let me up so I could go to the market, or she wouldn't have food for the coming week.  I'm sure she didn't understand, but did let me up.

Oh no-  they know when the food is coming in the house.

The other day I was frustrated- the work men were very late getting here- she must have picked up on it- she ran and hid-  she normally greets company and shows off.

ShaharThorne -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/30/2011 9:23:04 PM)

I get to see Binx this Wednesday.  I know what she is going to do...lay on the duffel bag, wanting to get into any treats or catnip.

I hope that I can find the sweet grass bowl..LOL!

hausboy -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/30/2011 9:28:38 PM)

Maximus keeps walking on the keyboard.  it's driving me crazy.  Louie has decided that it's bedtime, so he's now off to climb into bed.
Not a bad idea, come to think of it...

ppppffffftttt!  She knew EXACTLY what you were saying!  I'm surprised she didn't get your coat and keys for you!  Every shopping bag I bring into the house is thoroughly inspected to make sure they don't miss any "tweets" or new food.  And look out if I've bought catnip!  KB gets hold of it and takes off with it, usually under the nearest piece of furniture that I can't reach under!

ShaharThorne -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/30/2011 9:41:17 PM)

I brought some 'nip after we get Binx.  Told Lizard to give her a pinch every other day.

I was gone for 3 weeks.  I come back and lookie here...the baggie was empty with claw marks.

Next time, I am hiding it in the pantry.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/30/2011 9:57:25 PM)

Actually Shar, store it in the freezer, it stays fresher there.  And it's also out of Binx's reach!

0ldhen -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/31/2011 5:50:20 PM)

S2S that is a good tip. All spring/summer I grow pots of catnip on 10ft sheperds hooks and harvest it as quickly as it grows, then pack it in freezer bags for later use. My kitties love it. Much fresher plus a nice stalk makes for a buzz and a toy at the same time.

The babies are all lazing and watching the fieplace, I tried one of those crackling color logs and so far they've found it most entertaining. It has glass doors which are closed so it is safe.

Lol, MysticFireTopaz, I think maybe you should put Lily in charge of the nip, then Angel would HAVE to be nicer to her.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (1/31/2011 7:14:06 PM)

Hen, my kittehs won't eat fresh catnip....I got some once at PetSmart, thinking that they'd eat it like they chomp on the grass....nope.....they wanted no part of it til I stopped watering it and it dried out.  And even then, they didn't eat much of it.  Now I get the Smarty Cat organic nip at Wally world, and they go nutso!  Being a bad kitteh mommy, I wait til they are high and get the laser pointer out......now THAT'S entertainment!

Anyone have any good ideas about getting rid of hairballs?  I've got the paste stuff, the cat food, the treats;  I brush and comb when I can sit on them long enough to get it done; yet they still have them!  I'm at my with's end....tonight KB polished off his dinner, and not 5 minutes later, threw it all up again.  He did manage to keep down the second serving.  Squeaks has one too.  I've tried everything out there, I'm hoping someone has a trick I haven't heard of.

Don't mean to be gross S2S, but inspect the "contents.'  It's possible that if your kitty is puking right after she or he eats, it may not be a hairball.  Could be the food, or she's eating too fast, or something medical.  If it keeps happening, I'd pay the vet a visit.

I have two Maine Coon mixes, so I have to brush them a lot, give them hairball treats and they have special Maine Coon food--they still get hair balls now and then, but usually if one of the pukes right after they eat, it's not a hairball....
