You people need to take a pill and relax. Why do you assume I don't like cats. I have 2 cats.

But while I do like cats, I don't like you.

Reciprocity is a wonderful thing, no?

Right now, Bubby-kitty is asleep in the rocking chair, snuggled up to his new lovey. [:)]

Lump is being a pest, a horrid little pest.

me: "No kitty, i do not want to see your cookie cutter. You're blocking the screen."
Lump: "Yeorw?"

Anyone have any good ideas about getting rid of hairballs?

The easiest though the meanest way to get rid of hairballs is to put about a 1/4 teaspoon of Vaseline on your finger, sneak up on the offender and rub it on their paws or whatever you can reach.

The best long term way to stop this from happening again is to get a can of plain pumpkin and sneak into a bit of canned food or tuna.Feed this to them once a week and you'll never hear that scary horrible hacking sound again.

If the vaseline trick does not work hausboy gave you good advice, see the vet because it could be more than a hairball.

1. Sell them on E-Bay?
2. Keep on brushing.
3. Muzzle.

Angel asked to go out, but saw the ice and snow and felt the freezing wind, so decided to stay in and lounge around today.  Lily spent part of the day pestering me for attention in my office and part of the day in the guest bathroom behind the commode.  Why she likes it there is beyond me.  I think Misty slept all day.

0ldhen -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/1/2011 4:59:38 PM)

Well Abba is pissed off because I will not let her out in the yard. We've got about 3 inches of solid ice, our county is under a level 3 emergency, and if she got hurt I do not think the ambulance company would take her to the vet. So I am just being a mean mommy.

She is sitting on the couch staring at me but when I look at her she turns her head doing her "see me, I AM NOT looking st you" routine. I am trying hard not to giggle at her doing this and act properly chastised.

The boys are running from the 2nd floor to the basement and back again, chasing each other and playing.

I forgot to get the 'nip at Walmart, as well as a Valentine card for someone. (got it at the dollar store).

PERFECT!!!  Looks like 2 Cthulhus smooching each other (I felt my dark heart doing a double flip).

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/1/2011 9:08:08 PM)

Haus, I do check the remains....eventually the hairball turns up.  It usually take about 2 days for them to completely hack it up.  I brush them when I can pin them down....they all hate being brushed....the problem I have with KB is that he not only grooms himself, but he grooms the other 2 boys like a mama cat does.  I was just sort of hoping that someone else had a methid that worked for them.  Short of shaving them bald, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.  And no I'm NOT shaving them...I like to live!

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/1/2011 9:14:10 PM)

Hen, I'll have to try the pumpkin thing....altho, the brats have noses like a bloodhound....I tried putting a little canola oil in their food for their coats....that went over like a lead balloon.  I have done the Vaseline thing, but you have to be careful with that because it blocks the absorption of nutrients or vitamins.  I have the commercial hairball medicine that has vitermins and good stuff already in it.  They will eat that, but only after making a big deal about me wiping it on their coats.......little drama queens, the hwole bunch of them!

I see Rule is in his usual form.......ppffffttttt - Ebay......wise ass!  [:D]

Lol, I have to be careful with that because they are all faster than me and have claws..........

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/2/2011 3:51:16 AM)

I know Hen.....it's tough to be sneakier and quicker than a cat, ain't it?  Boo runs if he even sees the tube of stuff or the containter of vaseline.  I have to get some on my finger and act like I'm not headed towards him and then nonchalantlty meander by him and *swoop*.

Note to self   [sm=writing.gif]  When buying croutons, either remove them from the bag into another container, or hide them better.  I'll bet Squeaks thought she hit the mother lode when she ripped open THAT bag of "tweets".....til she got a snootful of garlic and onions!  Altho, there were crumbs there, so she snacked a bit.

0ldhen -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/2/2011 4:06:02 AM)

Grins, croutons, now that is funny.

Good stormy morning btw.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/2/2011 4:07:38 AM)

Same to you, Hen!  Good morning part anyway!

Yeah, but she's got some strange tastes....she's big on lemon and butterscotch pudding, any kind of ice cream.....they say cats can't taste sweet, but I'd swear she can!

0ldhen -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/2/2011 4:19:21 AM)

I think you are right because some of Abba's favorite foods are red pears, jelly doughnuts, banana pudding. Along with of course pizza, spaghetti, meatloaf, ham and whole wheat bread.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/2/2011 5:10:16 AM)

But there's no accounting for kitteh tastes......I've made them chicken before, and they won't eat it.....unless it's the deep fried KFC stuff.....but they'll eat the slimy gooshy food from the cans.  Real meat, forget it!

Now "shimps"....Boo can't wait for them to even cool off before he's trying to hook one and take off!  He smells them cooking and he's right there.....and if I don't share, I'll never hear the end of it.....Smooch will also eat it, but he has manners!  It's "one for me, one for you".....if I'm lucky, I might actually get a few myself!  KB and Squeaks don't eat them.

KB, however, will lick the grease off the top of the pepperoni ON the pizza......whether I'm done with it or not!

playfulotter -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/2/2011 11:14:28 AM)

Right now my kitty is sleeping on the top level of my fluorescent light stand in my bedroom. I took this photo of her last week up among the plants.
