Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

By obama moving her into the administration he is better able to watch her. "You rather have me as an enemy because i'm a deadly friend" Mystikal

By her having the high profile job she now has, her presidential running days are over. She has a high profile job where she has to make public decisions and make speeches to support the president. All of which could be easily used to bury her. She should have tuned the job down if she wanted to run.

Ok, I'll buy that for a dollar, point well made. I still think she and that hosebag Sarah Palin should be lesbian lovers caged naked in someone else's basement. Just sayin'..

MarsBonfire -> RE: Someone's a little touchy! (8/12/2009 7:38:06 PM)

Yeah, but what a great idea for a BDSM porno! LOL

Oh well, at least it was just Hillary being a bit testy after being on the road for 1200 miles, through a war zone, and through areas where the rape of women for political and warfare has become commonplace...  At least she's not so hated and reviled by the world they were throwing shoes at her head...  Let's see... who was it who had THAT happen to them? (think, think think...)

LadyPact -> RE: Someone's a little touchy! (8/12/2009 7:51:19 PM)

Also not a big Hilary fan.  I saw the way she responded to the question.  I'm sure it win her any popularity points with most folks who saw it.  She was absolutely rude in her response to the question, even if it was incorrectly translated.

Lostkitten3 -> RE: Someone's a little touchy! (8/12/2009 9:21:04 PM)

The question, as asked by the translator was not innocent. It completely undermined her authority as Secretary of State (it's her job to have opinions on this matter) and implied that her husband's opinion (who currently holds no office other than former president, which is admittedly important to many other countries) was more important than hers. If they wanted her husband's opinion, they should have called him. If they want her opinion and the White House's stand on the topic, they ask her.

Which is all she said.

She was standing up for herself necessarily.

Just because it turned out to be an interpreter mistake, doesn't make her a bitch for standing up for, and insisting on her deserved respect.

TheHeretic -> RE: Someone's a little touchy! (8/12/2009 9:36:06 PM)

I won't dispute that the question, as asked, was insulting.  That has nothing to do with her awful conduct in answering.  Where was that big phony laugh from the campaign when she had a use for it?

Lostkitten3 -> RE: Someone's a little touchy! (8/12/2009 9:56:10 PM)

She said she won't channel her husband and that he is not the secretary of state. Sarah Palin gave many responses (less coherently) with the same annoyed tone.

You all are talking as if she yelled or pointed fingers or flipped someone off. It's not rude to correct someone and answer the question.

At least it wasn't rude to y'all when sarah Palin did it.

How interesting.

As per usuall it's not so much what is said rather than 'how' it's said. And there is no debate whatsoever that it was a snarky, bitchy reply. I've seen male politicians asked questions about what their wives thought and they responded much better. Are men 'supposed' to be able to handle answering questions about their wives better than women are? Or should we expect an EQUAL type of response. I don't believe I've ever seen a male politician get offended or snarky with someone who asked a legitimate question about his wife's feelings. But when a woman does it, she's just standing up for herself?

Right. [8|]

Of course it does run in the family, from what I've seen. When campaigning for her mom during the primaries, someone asked Chelsea what she thought about her mom taking her dad back after the "affair" and Chelsea replied "that's none of your business!" Well sorry Chelsea, honey, but when you're putting yourself in the spotlight as part of your mom's campaign and your mom's husband, your father, cheated on her while president, it very much is our business.

TheHeretic -> RE: Someone's a little touchy! (8/12/2009 10:14:21 PM)

Don't change the subject.  This is about Hillary's incompetence for her position, and President Obama's piss-poor judgement in selecting her for it.

So far it's the only mistake I have seen Obama make since taking office. When he won the primary, I cheered. When he named her as his secretary..... [sm=Groaner.gif]

Lostkitten3 -> RE: Someone's a little touchy! (8/15/2009 9:23:59 AM)

Sorry Loki, but a person's sex life is NOT a part of the public forum on which the children of those people should be asked to speak. Nor should the participating, consenting adults. Their sex life is not our business. Does your work know what you do? In fact this is the one and only "civilized" country in the world that cares about who you fuck. In fact one reason so many other countries want Clinton to come negotiate with them is because he is so "manly" that he has more than one woman.

I have definitely seen Bushy get snarky and rude many times and actually is famous for creating international incidents for speaking so disrespectfully, so I am quite sure it is not just the women who get snarky. How male chauvinistic that you would only notice her.

As for Hilary's response, no males in politics have had wives with higher political positions than they. Most are housewives that support their husbands. So telling their wives opinion is "cute" to them. Hillary spent 48 years in that position, being asked her husband's opinion, and is probably quite sick of it. SO she is being a little snarky to make sure it doesn't happen again. They really can call her husband for his opinion, as he is happy to give it.

If you think that was a total bitchy off the handle response, I think you have not been around many angry women. That was entirely restrained. Most of us women won't admit it, but we can be extremely cruel with a biting tounge when we are puhed into a corner.

Let's just say that "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" is a time honored and popular quote for good reason. We spend most of our middle school and high school years trying to control it. That was definitely a controlled response. You may not have liked it, but it's not as much of an incident as you pretend it is. Since she went as spoke amicably with the person asking the question afterward, I am pretty sure they and the country were not offended.

Just the criticizing Republicans pretending they are smarter again

For the average citizen, that's correct. When that person was the president of the United States of America and committed the affair IN the White House, it very much is relevant. If her viewpoint about the incident in regards to her mom, for whom she was campaigning is "none of anyone's business," perhaps she shouldn't have put herself in the spotlight because it's a question that's GOING to be asked no matter what.

I never said it was only women. I said men do it when it's really needed. Not when someone asks "what does your wife think?" That'd be the difference.

Some would react with class. Clearly she's not one of them.

Oh I've been around plenty. Surely enough to know that they can use a biting tongue that leaves no doubt just the same as they can use one where it's obvious they're gritting their teeth. Trust me, I've seen it all. That's how I can recognize this instance for what it was.

Believe it or not, I'm agreeing with him.

The fact that she turned a blind eye to Bill's infidelity, doesn't make Me have a lot of respect for the woman.  She was made a far greater fool by his sexual exploits than anyone who could ever ask her a question about her husband.
