It makes me think of a quote from Mallrats....

Brody: You're gonna listen to me? To something I said? Jesus man, haven't I made it abundantly clear during the tenure of our friendship that I don't know shit? I mean half the time I'm just talkin' outta my ass....or stickin' my hand in it.
T.S.: Sometimes yes, but on occasion you've been known to let a nugget of truth slip out.

Only in America is it a bad thing to get a blowjob. And only in America would anyone have the gaul to ask that person's daughter how she felt about it.

The President of France had a mistress, everyone knew about it, even his wife. He was never impeached for it, It's normal there. ANd his kids had nothing to do with it, no one ever asked any of them to comment. A few kings of England too as I recall.

And only in American politics can a blowjob follw the wife and make her look bad. Holyshit. Perhaps she wanted to maintain the integrity of a marriage she fought for and believed in not only for her daughter but because she loved the man and didn't want to ruin what they had built together?

Maybe if more people valued their marriage instead of their "freedom" we wouldn't have the 60% divorce rate we have in America, the highest, anywhere.

As to Hilary not being classy, sacrificing her dignity at the public embarrassment that the GOP brought to light, simply because watergate didn't work, to save her daughter and her family for distress and political ruin, is far more classy than many actions taken by many males in the whitehouse.

What you are doing is trying to kick a dog when it's down. Entertaining for some perhaps, but at the expense of a perfectly good animal.

The reporter didn't ask how she felt about the affair. She asked how she felt about her mother's decision to remain married to her father in spite of the affair, which I feel is a perfectly valid question when you are assessing the judgement of a person who's running for the highest office in the land.

That's your opinion. I know far more women who had very 'unkind' things to say in regards to her judgement and intelligence because of the way she handled it. Some said at the time she was doing it because she wanted a shot at the White House. And *gasp* look....a decade later it turns out they were right.

No, dogs I like. I'd never kick a *dog* while it was down. However I danced a freakin' jig the day Obama beat her in the primaries.

Believe it or not, I'm agreeing with him.

The fact that she turned a blind eye to Bill's infidelity, doesn't make Me have a lot of respect for the woman.  She was made a far greater fool by his sexual exploits than anyone who could ever ask her a question about her husband.

I believe theirs is a political union more than anything else. It wouldn't surprise me if they both have their side flings.

He wasn't impeached for a blow job, he was impeached because he kept pushing himself on a woman against her will and we have laws against that sort of thing here, she sued him for it and he was caught lying while under oath during the trial.

IIRC correctly, the impeachment was entirely about the Lewinsky affair in which there was nothing nonconsensual at all.

I believe that your nonconsensual allegation pertains to Paula Jones.  I don't believe that that was material to the impeachment.

Which is why Bush never allowed himself to be questioned under oath and penalty of perjury?

To quote de la Vega:

"D. On September 7, 2002, appearing publicly with Blair, BUSH claimed a recent IAEA report stated that Iraq was "six months away from developing a [nuclear] weapon" and "I don't know what more evidence we need," which statements were made without basis and with reckless indifference to the truth in that: (1) the IAEA had not even been present in Iraq since 1998; and (2) the report the IAEA did write in 1998 had concluded there was no indication that Iraq had the physical capacity to produce weapons-usable nuclear material or that it had attempted to obtain such material."

The point being ignored by women is, he shattered both his honor and his word and therein his claim to manhood. Women all over the world are eager and willing to spread their legs and open their mouths so in the final analysis dumping a load in that broad’s mouth was simply a demonstrating of his own character flaws. His wife dismissed it based on it being prudent. Her passion to set in the White House was greater than her self-respect and her history of caving in on issues requiring a stance rooted in greater good was one of self-serving weakness too.

You recall incorrectly, Steve.  The lies he uttered under oath were about Lewinsky, but that wasn't why he was under oath to begin with.

What about the Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas? He was accused of sexual harassment and got to keep his post.

As for Hilary, yes, many many women also divorce their husbands for cheating, when they are caught (because many many many men cheat that aren't caught) and it breaks up the home and the children and disparages the actual love. And believe it or not, some stay and work it out.

I am amazed how many people on collarme are such moral prudes as to think a blowjob from an intern is cheating and deserves a divorce. WHich has NOTHING to do with his politics. And yes, he was found "guilty" and impeached because of a stain on a blue dress brought into court by Monika Lewinsky, not because of anything he did to that ugly one who got a nosejob and liposuction and a new wardrobe after "winning" her case (actually Ken Starr's case.)

I am also amazed that so many women stayed quiet about Hilary's choice, who understood that till death do us part was an actual oath, without caveats.

And I am also amazed that Hillary, is not allowed to be angry now, about people asking about her husbands opinion, but were dismissive of her when she wasn't angry enough about his affairs.

Geeze that is so hypocritical.

And asking the CHILD what her mother thinks and feels is not different. Ask Hillary if you need to (though she wrote a detailed book about it, I read it because I wanted to know) instead of her Child. Now THAT is classless behavior. Thinking the kid should voice an opinion on her parent's infedelities. The nerve of some people!

I just don't see the big deal in a blowjob, and the need to harass family members and children about it (and the repercussions of it) forever. That is their choice. That is their marriage and their lives. They get to put whatever rule s about fidelity on it they see as appropriate. It has nothing to do with us, and what her daughter thinks about it WHO IS NOT IN OFFICE ANYWHERE is none of our business.

Hillary had a right to be pissed at being asked what her husband thought. She did not GO OFF on anyone. SHe said loudly and clearly that she would only give her opinion, not his.

He didn't dump in her mouth, he dumped on her dress, and she was so honored to have the president's spooge on her dress (such a submissive move here) she SAVED IT

The key word there is "accused," not convicted. Remember that thing called due process? I know it's seldom respected in the real world, but it is still fact. He wasn't convicted or found to have done it.

Well damn. While you may not be my type, you're bound to make some guy a happy man. He can get a BJ and you don't consider that cheating? Whew.

So is 'taking this woman to be your wife, forsaking all others.' He broke his oath first.

That's exactly it. She was dismissive then, so it's too late to take umbrage. Someone asked a question (poorly translated at that) that she should have been able to gracefully answer. She wasn't. I have to wonder, then, what her answer would have been if the question was asked correctly, which was what Obama thinks. It's still another man who's not the secretary of state. Would she have reacted the same way? We'll never know. But I would think it's possible since she reacted the way she did the first time.

Once again, incorrect. Had the girl stayed out of the limelight, she must be willing to hear such questions. She put herself out there. She campaigned for her mother. So, considering her support for her mom, her mom's policies, etc, she should be ready to ask her feelings about her mom staying with her dad after that fiasco.

Once again I'll state: it's not the words she used, it was the snarky way in which she said it. There's not a commentator, radio host, news personality or....anyone I've heard talking about it that took her tone as anything other than snarky and bitchy. That's a LOT of people. Either you're wrong, or a nation is. I'd be inclined to think the former, personally.

She said she won't channel her husband and that he is not the secretary of state. Sarah Palin gave many responses (less coherently) with the same annoyed tone.

You all are talking as if she yelled or pointed fingers or flipped someone off. It's not rude to correct someone and answer the question.

At least it wasn't rude to y'all when sarah Palin did it.

How interesting.

Oh well then, if Sarah did it first, Then hell yes. Every women in power should take this opportunity to be a bitch, and its ok cause Sarah did it first.

Is it me or is anyone else seeing a pattern of "but he/she did it first" in these political threads.

It's not just in politics. Women have used that line for years. Case in point: the popular country song "Guys Do It All The Time."

Women bitch and bitch about what men do......and then do it as well. Seems to me, if you're going to take issue with something I do, I better never see you do it as well or your credibility is out the window, permanently. I seem to recall an old saying about not sinking to someone else's level.....

Clarence Thomas was accused of sexual harrassment by a liberal democrat who didn't want him on the court. It was never proven and he is a supreme court justice as he should be.

But is it "so and so did it first," Boi, or is it a question of whether the poster cared at all when someone on "their" side did the exact same thing not so long ago?
