She sent me a warning as well, so I changed my name and stay out of her forum most of the time.
Rarely get engaged with personal conflicts.

It just doesn't matter that much, and besides we need to find her a part-time job.

Respectfully,

How do we know that Domiguy and ModXI are not one and the same?  Has anyone ever seen them in the same topic together?   Perhaps Kevin's posts made her snap and she took on this crazy other persona as a troll on the very forum she swore to protect and serve....*gasp*

...it could happen...

LOLOL, only on CM could a thread like this meander into a recipe for pound cake. And nobody even called hijack.

Like I said, only on CM.

pound cake
n.
A rich, finely textured yellow cake containing eggs, flour, butter, and sugar.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[From the original recipe, calling for a pound each of butter, sugar, and flour.]

recipe:

EASY POUND CAKE

3 c. sugar
3 c. flour
3 sticks butter, room temperature
6 eggs
1 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla

First cream butter and sugar. Then add all other ingredients. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease tube pan. Pour mixture into greased pan. Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before you remove from pan.

There can't be many on here who'd like that kind of thing surely ? ... it's got FAR too much vanilla.

Pirate

I love it and I'm in the UK!

Pound cake serves as a foundation for all kinds of other dessert goodies, such as strawberry shortcake. (Slices of pound cake covered in sliced strawberries & whip cream, either of which is sweetened to one's tastes . . ... . Other fruit [blueberries, peaches, whatever] can be used . . .. ) The cook can substitute other flavorings in the pound-cake recipe, say, half the vanilla replaced with almond extract. Pound cakes can also be drizzled with rum & / or a lemon-infused sweet glaze, a pirate-y kinda confection, lol . . . . .

As for the topic of moderation, OP, there are unmoderated forums out there on the wild, wild webs, if people really feel the need for unmoderated online conversation.

I prefer moderated conversation, but I also have a sorta perverse liking of rules, boundaries, limits, laws, & so on & so forth . . . . . *snickers* . . . . . Especially contrasted against also liking rebellion & insurrection & dissension & irreverence & similar . . . . Hmmmm, yeah, & I like the play between those two edges . . . . . .

& moderating as a volunteer job is tough, thankless work. These are private entities & private entities have all kinds of rights to impose tons of reasonable rules. Indeed, for liability reasons there are typically oodles of incentive to enforce a slate of strictures, covering of the ass, ya know . . . . .

Oh, yeah, & I've been mod-spanked a few times, & I've had posts & threads pulled. C'est l'vie. It is what it is. I generally strive to stay out of the upset, name-calling kinda thing, avoid the negativity stuff as much as possible, & I've been kicked off of online fora for engaging in reasonable discussion, so . . *shrugs* . . . . CollarChat is a reasonably well-behaved place in my experience . . ..

I've 'followed' various posters around who've gotten put on whatever it is that has their posts pending approval, yeah, out of curiosity. I do have a significant interest in free expression issues & so I look for the many ways that the censorious impulse emerges from human interactions. & the pattern I saw in the few I've 'monitored' who've gotten the pending approval thingie, they seem to have 'hostility issues' & / or 'trollish propensities'. & these things are more in the 'how' things are stated rather than the ostensible content of what's being communicated . . . ...

The moderation here does seem to mostly be aimed at limiting the flame wars, keeping things relatively on track, within the framework that inflammatory stuff is very subjective, that the boundaries can be tremendously ambiguous . . . . . The obstreperous typically have plenty of rational reasons why they're being resistant. Sometimes resistance is good & useful. Plenty of time, resistance makes the resisters feel better. & some portion of time resistance is futile . . .. .

Relative to other online fora, CollarChat seems to be rather amicable . .. . I read quite a bit of news online & scan the comments, if any, & that online commentary tends to be quite scalding & extreme . . . .. . & yet it does seem to be a fairly light hand moderating things here as there's still plenty of hostility & conflict & etc all over the place. The place often looks quite a bit like some nature documentary of large critters battling for dominance, big surprise not . . . . . & then it also has aspects of spending the day at the daycare facility, watching toddlers & young children interacting . .. . . . & all while there is plenty of compassion, intelligence, common sense, & love (frequently of the tough variety) on display all over the place . . . . . . Pretty nice return on my investment, actually . . . . .

Well now I don't want to kick kittens or the elderly, but can I pretend in my mind I am kicking people I don't like?  Better yet paddling them? * less chance of getting hurt than with kicking.

And cupcakes are so fun, One year for my biological dad's birthday I made enough birthday cup cakes to write happy birthday dad on them. They were a huge hit, even though they were really simple and nothing grand.

Actually Tops, Wyzardsgirl has been absent from this thread for about 24 hours now. I think Mod 11 took her behind the woodshed to beat some sense into her...meanwhile, we've all just been having fun 'jacking the thread and eating cupcakes and spreading frosting and cherries on Bear and other fun and kinky stuff. Oh, and kicking the elderly and kittens. Can't forget that.

Come on and join the fun!

poosy,

I'll be 60 in December and I do like kittens.  Want to try to kick me and my kittens?  I dare you!  Why?  Because I KICK back.  I'm sorry if this sounds trite, but abuse of the elderly and animals is not something I find amusing.  When I was a cop I had to investigate too many cases of elderly abuse and saw too many animals abused.  I know you were just making a joke, but it's a joke I can live without.

Huh ? Our kittens used to love getting kicked. OK we did not kick them hard, we were playing and took our shoes off. But if I took my shoes off they would come running from blocks away as soon as they smelled it.

We would lift them up with our feet, throw them on the couch and all that. They loved it, but it always seemed to work up their appetite. We stopped doing it when they no longer seemed to care if they were chewing socks or human flesh. Some cats are just like people.

Now what is that other kind of cakes you can get for strawberry shortcake ?

Only on CM.

Hehe... Thanks guys! I don't get moderator notes or actions. I don't get Nigerian scammers. I don't get "On yer neez bitch" messages, onliners, or much of anything in my inbox. I was starting to wonder what was wrong with me. Now I just realize it's all just because I'm such a sparkly, wonderful person. Shyeah right!
