No one knows but to claim that 20% of medicare billing is fraudulent requires some evidence as the article you link to makes clear.

If I had to estimate I'd assume it is somewhere between the 3% figure the industry claims and 10%. The fact is that private insurance is no where near as good as they claim at preventing fraud but 20% is simply to big to go so completely under the radar. There simply aren't enough whistle blowers to convince fraud is that widespread.

One thing that was acknowledged from last night from the President. "this plan would eliminate is the hundreds of billions of dollars in waste and fraud"

"Hundreds of Billions of waste and fraud". A disclosre coming from the ultimate Adminstrator of the program.

Would that represent more than 3%?
