How I ID can be dependent on the circumstances and requirements. Listed are the forms of ID I use as the situation calls for and all are still accurate to me.
  • Machiavellian Enigma,
  • Scaramouch
  • Priest.
  • Big Brother (Honorary).
  • Your Worst Nightmare,
  • Friend.
  • A Man.
  • Trouble Shooter.
  • Artist.

I'd love to see you do the Fandango.....[;)]

i actually don't self-identify internally as female but as gender neutral and my first instinct is not to interact with others based on their gender either.  i just kind of. . . forget.  This has caused amusing (and a few not so amusing) social mishaps.  In the last 10 years or so, i try to consciously remind myself that others perceive me as the biologically female person i was born and remind myself that often people are interacting with me based on my perceived and their own sense of gender first and foremost before other qualities.  For political reasons--as a feminist ally, and as a social lubricant, i do identify myself as female first and gender neutral second to others.

i love labels as much as i love television.  They annoy me yet i'm as addicted as the next dupe.

relationship status: partnered with hetero male
gender: neutral
sex: female
orientation: pansexual

CougarStud -> RE: How do you Id? (8/28/2009 6:48:50 AM)

I always viewed myself as a male trapped in a female body ever sice I was about 8 years old.  Though I am totally comfortable with the female body I have, and I have never had the desire to change it, though I do modify it with weightlifting.  I always thought that if I got magically morped into a hot man with a big cock I would be Bisexual not Straight since I think Gay sex is erotic.

How do you Id?
Do you Id differently in different contexts?
Do you feel it necessary to have to state gender…on a work application, CV, on a profile on Face Book, Collarme? Alt.com? and so on?
Why do you feel it necessary or unnecessary?

I ID as female in gender and sex.

Sometimes I'll do a gender bend, but I usually feel female all the time.

I do feel it necessary to state it on websites, especially where I use Master. People outside my circle (even though its an international circle!) usually don't understand that Master is gender neutral just like slave. On other websites, I don't bother and for work in the US, having them care about my gender is often grounds for a lawsuit; they are not allowed to care.

Ditto UK but what happens n day to day practice is different.
Given the choice between an old bird, a dyke and a fat girl?...the pretty young blond chick will usually get the job (except my line manager is a gay female but not generally 'out' only to friends within the department (education).

I tend to ID as "annoying fairy faggot" to macho-types, or at the very least, "that harmless guy that's going to snap one day and kill us all if we don't keep him down".

I tend to ID as "creepy serial killer" to femme-types.

I tend to ID as "that guy that gives us all a bad name" to queer types.

~slaps on his chest a "YOU ROCK" sticker and runs to hide in the corner~

(Mini hijack)

*nurmnurmnurm* At the moment, I am IDing as a pretty doggone good Italian/Sicilian chef -- I made Caper, Chianti, and Olive Chicken Cacciatore with hand pressed basil ~ garlic polenta for dinner and now the entire household (SR, both grown girls -- including the offspring who did a horizontal piercing on her own lip this morning! -- older offspring's fiance, and younger offspring's boyfriend and girlfriend) are all drooling on me wanting to know if -they- can have some, too. So much for leftovers for lunch, huh? *grins*

I can ID as a French chef de pâtisserie and chef de cuisine as well -- but today, with it being summer and tomato, pepper, and olive season... I'm all about Southern Italy.

Steel:  You're on a roll lately!  :>

Sunnyfey:  Fantastic new pic!  :>

Prinsexx:  Here goes:
How do you Id?
****As you seem to be speaking mostly of sex and gender (Not the same things), I'm going to go with a female to whom gender neutrality and/or third-sex orientation feels rather comfy.

Do you Id differently in different contexts?
****Nope, I'm always me.  Just different costumes.

Do you feel it necessary to have to state gender…on a work application, CV, on a profile on Face Book, Collarme? Alt.com? and so on?
****Work application: if there's a box to check, I check it
****CV/resume: no, it's unprofessional
****I refuse to start a Facebook, Myspace, or Twitter account; I am relatively certain such things will lead to the decline of Wester Civilization and my innate sense of paranoia is tweaked by such things (Someone recently contacted my best friend asking after me, I was wigged) that she said anything more than "she's fine"
****CollarMe: It asks, so I answer.  Plus, I desire a male partner
****Alt.com: Not on there but imagine same answer as CM

Why do you feel it necessary or unnecessary?
****I'm female, I'm groovy with that.  It means I get to go shopping for (Glancing over at my latest acquisition) fabulous fuscia purses on clearance racks and such, lol!  Eh, once I made my peace with the fact that I couldn't appear androgynous, I became more accpeting of myself as a female (And, I've made further improvements, still, after my relationship with my ex- ending in which he ultimately de-sexualized me as much as he could in his mind), however I still acknowledge that there are many, many ways where I am far more comfirtable 'bein' one of the guys' or, that I am a 'guy's chick'.  So, in some ways, sexual identification is extremely relevant to and for me and in other ways, not at all.  :>
