I don't think I've ever experienced subspace. It wasn't a place that my former master preferred I go, so he made sure I didn't. He wanted me "there" (fully and alert) with him the entire time. He didn't appreciate non-communicativeness or inarticulation, to put it mildy. I don't feel as though I missed out on anything. I had wonderful intense times when we played. :)

A memory flashback, however, is more likely to occur during a beating and is unrelated to subspace, as it is the experience of being hit that usually triggers the older memories of attack or abuse.

i recently explained my subspace experience in a different post, that came from this post on the main boards, and forgive me its early so im not as repetitive in the morning

as far as triggering a past memory maybe subconsciously but its almost like a haze so its hard to focus on negative things. i would say the only thing that can trigger a bad memory is something being done in play and it still doesnt mean the person is going to recognize that. however subspace, you wont be triggering memories, its just an amazing feeling.

i would like clarification on why You wonder about subspace triggering a past memory. Is this something Your sub is concerned about? Are You or her worried about triggering a bad memory? Or are You talking past life memories?
Knowing more details about a bad memory she's concerned about, hearing about other experiences where she's been triggered to think about it, even in passing thought, will help You both when deciding on what's gonna' happen during scenes.

my sub space....my brain goes somewhere else but i'm aware of what is happening. It's unlike anything i ever felt before. And i'm still new to it all and i know i will be brought much deeper. Looking forward to that!
