So, how do you know if you sprained/fractured your arms? I think something is going on... So, was skating home from bus stop to home. Cat laying its lazy ass self across the concrete in front of me. I got closer... It didn't move.. I got CLOSER, it didn't move.. I finally through myself down so I didn't hit the cat. Cat magically disappears, and I have a boo-boo on my hand and knee. Minor scrapes. No biggie. Limp for a few days. Oh well. Now my ARMS, the lower part of my right arm and the upper, under part of my left, feel bruised. Badly bruised. But they aren't bruised. REALLY Sore. Cannot put much pressure on my arm. Cannot lift anything heavy (Waterbottle!). In pain, with every mere movement. Help. I dun wanna be broke.

I have just now taken an X-ray of your skull and have observed severe brain damage. Consult with your physician and ask for a brain transplant. My bill will be in your cmail. Pay at once!

Gee. Thanks. This is serious, now! I'm moving in two weeks, I need my arms to lift things! If I need to be careful and let them heal, I need to know! Brain damage would explain my migraines, though... Hrm.

ALRIGHT! Leaving in TWO WEEKS, people. Like, I don't have time to go to the doctors. And I won't have insurance after I leave. And, do I really wanna go get radiated for simple arm pains? Just REASSURE ME, that I'm fine. And I'll be on my marry little way!

You may have just sprained something. Equally you may well have broken something. How can we reassure you when the only way to know is to get an xray and an exam by a physician?

THANK YOU! Thats all I wanted to know! ^^ I can't. I explained that. If its no big deal and I'm just a cry baby, I'm not going to go to the doctor. It takes WAY too much effort. ONE, No car. TWO, dad would have to take me. THREE, dad works, like, 7 days a week. FOUR, sister is a bitch and won't take me. FIVE, I'm working all week, about 11 hours a day, taking a bus for three. I wake up, leave, go home, sleep. SIX, I can't take work off because I need money. SEVEN, its MINOR. I'm not going through the headache of trying to figure how to get there, back to work, taking off time, harassing dad, harassing my doctor, trying to make an EMERGENCY appointment the last two weeks I'm here. YOU GUYS ARE MY NEW HEALTH INSURANCEEE!!!

If I broke something, wouldn't I not be able to move my arms at all? Obviously, I'm typing just fine. I just can't lift anything heavy. If I just take it easy, is it going to go away in a few weeks?

Kitten... see a doctor. It's possibly only sprained, but it's equally possible that you may have a hairline fracture. You need an xray to determine what course of treatment you'd need. A sprain will heal on it's own with no major problems (in my experience). A fracture needs to be treated differently so that it doesnt cause problems in the future. CAVEAT: I am not a medical professional.. these comments are based on my own personal experience. As long as you still have insurance, USE IT.

You have a lot of excuses not to see a doctor and it sounds as if you talked yourself out of going. You are going to lose your health insurance in two weeks when you move. The physical exertion of moving may well aggravate your current situation and... then what are you going to do? Bet you look back and wish you had gone for a simple x-ray when you had the medical insurance to cover the cost. Ok...so going to see your doctor is a major inconvenience. I happen to think you are worth the effort. Don't you agree?

I've broken way too many bones and sprained them. I broke my wrist once on a bike..I continued to bike but it hurt like fuck..wasn't gonna go to the hospital but eventually I did (cuz somebody a bit wiser insisted me to) and it was broken..seriously people react differently to pain. Seriously cut the crap go see a doctor n stop asking the boards then you'll have a definite answer and correct treatment. I've never broken a bone so it only hurt when touched or used it hurt constantly. You might just be badly sprained, but really it doesn't matter, either way go see a friggin doctor.

You can have fractures that you are not aware of, or muscle damage. And do you know what a torn rotator cuff is? It is a tear in the shoulder joint which can prevent you from lifting your arm, or at the very least, prevent you from lifting anything heavy. The thing about the rotator cuff is they do not heal on their own and you have a very small window of opportunity to have it treated. In other words...if it is the rotator cuff what you have now will never get any better.
