Ah, it was so long ago i hope my memory serves here.

First breaking is a term with ugly connotations; training is what i hope he is speaking of. Yet emotionally sometimes it can feel like breaking.

If it is truly your wish to serve him and he is referring to training you then i would say stick with it within your limits. During the time that it took me to be trained at 1st i always knew i had the option of walking away from the collar.

Many were the times i questioned those things he desired of me, even more so i questioned my desire to submit to him. Often i found myself in tears, wondering what the purpose of putting me through this is, and just as often i would eventually grasp the inherent lesson.

Not all Masters are to be trusted and what you are speaking of in the hands of the unskilled can be damaging to the psyche even more so than the body. Yet done correctly by an experienced Master it is the most liberating mind blowing process that peels away the layers of societal negative reinforcement to reveal the wanton, glorious, loving, giving, slave within.

you say slave then i wouldnt think there would be to many limits but i dont think i would give myself to someone whos ideas were to different from my own.  As for breaking a slave i would think and would honestly expect there to be pushing of limits to the degree that your limits now will not be the same limits a year from now.
But again that is more with the submissive type i guess a slave is a bit different.
only my opinion dont wish to upset anyone

This is an interesting topic of discussion. As mentioned by some the term "Breaking" has to be defined and also understood to have the same definition by the parties involved in exploring any activities that are defined in "Breaking".

One my ask/wish to have ones behavior slightly modified. As in perhaps help with quitting smoking. This would be breaking a habit and a TRUST of wills.

It could also be brought to a completely different extreme. For instance the CIA's MKULTRA.
MK-ULTRA was established in 1953 to counter Soviet and Chinese advances in brainwashing and interrogation techniques and consisted of 149 subprojects contracted out to at least 80 institutions including hospitals and Universities. In 1977 Director of Intelligence Stansfield Turner said the program was initiated because the Agency was confronted with "learning the state of the art of behavioral modification at a time when the U.S. Government was concerned about inexplicable behavior of persons behind the 'Iron Curtain' and American prisoners of war who had been subjected to so called brainwashing."

It's a pretty broad term. Trust and clear communication are always the essential keys.
