I agree with Kiwisub and NYLass !! The purpose of a submissive is the same as any human being. Be true to one's self. Live to the best of one's abilities, and hope to find people to whom we are compatible. As for AquaticSub's first definition of a Dom.... that's what a "Top" does -- whether the Top is a Dominant or not, doesn't matter.

The purpose of a submissive is the same as the purpose of any person, vanilla as well as kinky. You live life to its fullest. It doesn't matter if the submissive is owned or not. Their purpose is the same.

I've read through the replies to the question..and am no closer to an answer for myself. I have no purpose, let alone a main one. I have a purpose as a Mumsy but being owned has no purpose whatsoever. My life works better when he's in charge.......... that's a purpose* for him ,not me. Dunno..give me a clue?...lol agirl

Can you be a sub without a dom? To whom? I can not be a dom without a sub either, but I can have a dominant personality as a sub could have submissive tendencies. But I agree wholly with AquaticSub. becoming a sub should then be your goal. As becoming a dom again is now mine.

I don't agree with you at all that you have to be in a relationship to be a submissive, or even that finding a dom should be every's sub goal when single. It might not be the right time for them but they are still submissive, just not to anyone in particular. When I am single, I am still submissive just as when I am single or only involved with one gender I am still bisexual.
