I was going to post the same, but you all beat me to it:)

Slaves aren't great when you find them, they are just potential. They only become great slaves after they have been mastered. It's a process and it doesn't happen overnight. I think some people expect them to arrive in a box with a red ribbon all ready to jump out and obey

Heh, I wouldn't argue this in the slightest. Top quality people are, by definition, top quality and therefor in limited supply. It makes no difference whether we are talking dom, sub, vanilla, or something else.

And yeah Red, I agree with your expansion also. In fact I am living proof of it. There is no doubt that my domliness is, in part, generated, supported, and enhanced by Carol. When I am uncertain it is she who settles me and refocuses me rather than storming off to collarme to whine about how I'm not domly enough. I adore the fact that rather than whining about it, she takes it upon herself to fix it. If I were to name one reason that I think most exemplifies why Carol is a great slave (in my eyes of course), it is that she helps to make me a great master. She is able to be both slave and partner at the same time and she's a strong partner.

Absolutely. I think many forget that, no matter how unequal the balance of power, both are responsible for the well being of each other and the relationship as a whole. What more service could a great slave be than to be that lone light in the midst of his/her dominant's personal storm and deep darkness. It would be an honor to lift my partner up in those times.

I was struggling and said, "I don't know if I can do this mine." Her response was to go to bedroom and fetch her leash, kneel in front of me, clip the leash to her collar then put the other end in my hand saying, "Sure you can. It's easy. See?"

Yup, THAT is the kind of woman I want to be my partner in life.
