IS it potentially racist to hire a proven racist?  And what may be the repercussions if the event repeats?

Mindblowing!!

Time for all the White House czars to get out and push!

quote:

CNN Drops to Last Place Among Cable News Networks

CNN, which invented the cable news network more than two decades ago, will hit a new competitive low with its prime-time programs in October, finishing fourth – and last – among the cable news networks with the audience that all the networks rely on for their advertising.

...

For the month, CNN averaged 202,000 viewers between the ages of 25 and 54 – the group that television news organizations use as their basis of success because of their advertising sales. That was far behind the dominant leader, Fox News, which averaged 689,000. But it also trailed MSNBC, which had 250,000 viewers in that group and HLN, which had 221,000.

(Full article here).

It would be truly interesting if someone did a study of the intellectual level of  CNN or PBS viewer, or an NPR listener vs. a FN adherent. (don't normally use emoticons but it seems de rigeur by some posters and i just wuv making fun of the silliness).

Gee, you think it might be because the reason they are called the top 1% is because they have more wealth than the bottom 99%?

No. Swing and a miss.

The table was a tad bit misleading... as they often are.

The top 1% pays out more than the bottom 99%.  But not as much as the  24% beneath them.  Math is simple.

86% - 39.4% =.. ahem... im sure you can do your own math here.

And that is the problem, or the risk, of shoving a chart out in front of people and saying... see?  Yes, i see... far more than most realize.  So, before you expect me to cry a river over the insurance ceo's, the car guys, or any of those so woefully put upon 1%, remember that 67.5% of the nation's income is earned by the top 25%. Leaving only 33.5% for the bottom 75%.  Want all the wealth, then pay all the taxes.

But they DONT have ALL the wealth but they DO pay ALL the taxes.

If youre going to maintain that no one in the bottom 45% of income earners has any wealth, you need to check in for a brain scan.

Wealth and Income are not the same thing.

Plenty of retired people have very low incomes, yet hold wealth.

Obviously. But if you read the thread, it started with a discussion of who doesnt pay any taxes (the bottom 45% of income) and then taxxygirl makes the asinine statement "Want all the wealth, then pay all the taxes" implying that those who do pay the taxes have all of the wealth, which, as you have pointed out, is absurd.

Media matters isn't exactlywhat you might call a nonpartisan site:

quote:

Along with former MoveOn consultant Tom Matzzie and John Podesta's Center for American Progress, it is behind Progressive Media, a liberal messaging campaign launched in 2008 and expanded in 2009 to become a 'war room' for promoting the foreign and domestic policies of Barack Obama.

Do you have anything that isn't from such a blatantly far left organization? Not that I distrust them or think that they'll twist things and creatively edit them to suit an agenda or anything...

Okay, you got me. Thats exactly it.

Gawd, if I were a Democrat I wouldn't want people or "Orgs" like that anywhere near me!
Why do the lefties keep trying to subvert the Dems? They're really not "helping" them! Same thing with the righties and them trying to subvert the Republican party.
People! We need more parties in this country. Don't attach yourself to a party that "almost" or "sometimes" agrees with your philosophy, start your own parties!!!
And the Dems and Repubs need to start being way more selective as to who they let into their parties!
"Ok, all you free choice and pro life people out into the backyard for a fight to the death! Pick up your bowie knives on the way out the door."

willbe, you been around long enough to know better than to pull this stunt.  its also just as absurb to think that 1% pay taxes for 95% of the income... puleze... they would be screaming from their bank vaults!

Well then let's say we agree I'm really fucking stupid and you humor me by providing evidence for your claim that:
