I must say it's unlikely there is anyone more eloquent than Jon Stewart in expressing the issues of the day with such acumen or intellect.

Day 21 of the White House's War against Fox News was observed on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night. We learn the difference between what constitutes news and what constitutes editorial from no other source than Fox News itself.

Most working people want to stop wasting money on taxes and having government create GENERATIONAL DEBT....

My children are going to be in debt for the mistakes the government is currently making......

Its not that hard to create a balanced budget and be fiscally responsible.  It does take a responsible and disciplined outlook.  This has not been the case, as our gov't debt and annual addition to that debt shows how out of whack things really are....

I do find it morally reprehensible that some Americans think they can edit others right to free speech.  A right to free speech so that a person can say what they believe.  The point is that thru diverse reporting, a person can figure out the truth.  Because both sides could easily still be lying.....its almost impossible to not have some bias which comes thru in the news reports.......

I have asked this before and will ask it again, even though it doesn't get answered. What efforts are being made to stop anyone from using their right of free speech? I have yet to see a law proposed much less passed, a governmental regulation invoked, any official action on the federal, state of local level that stops anyone from saying whatever they like. Calling a particular outlook bullshit or even the proponents of such an outlook bullshitters is not in any way an abrogation of anyone's right to free speech. What it is is a tactic. It takes a position that everyone agrees upon, i.e. the right to free speech and tries to tar the side one doesn't agree with as trying to take this right away. Let's stick to the issues that exist, not the one's that are fabricated, shall we?

Republicans lost by a narrow margin.  Lets get real.  Now it comes to fruition that both sides, Republicans and Democrats are part of an organization that is trying to control both sides for an unknown agenda.  We don't want outside influences decide the outcome of what is best for Americans (prosperity and freedom for future generations).  I'm not exactly against this organization, but am distrustful of it.  We need a more diverse government, with more independents, so The Americans best interests are at heart, and not as corrupt.

Stating that Fox news isn't news is a lie.  Its public airwaves, and probably 50% beleive this.  Actually, while people are getting out of work and so on, the public opinion (which is fickle), is not so much with the administration and is watching Fox more and more. ;0

People are edited all the time.  Free speech as long as it doesn't endanger American lives.  Lets not have lose lips, which sink ships...

But when the public isn't endangered, or is, it should be reported.  There was 25 cases listed that showed where Free speech was endangered.  You are blind.  reread previous details about it.  Trying to say this isn't about free speech is naive.  You don't control the forum of this debate.  Lets get real.  I have a right to state my opinions.  Your opinions are not backed by the majority.  The majority want this war to end.  What has Obama done to end this war in Iraq?  Come on!!

Listed where? I don't mean to be dense..but I have no idea of what list you're talking about. I think the same could be said about you, but I will wait until you can provide some backup for your claims.

I am not trying to control anything. You have the right to say whatever you feel should be said. I support that right. I, in turn, have the right to say that I think what you are saying is ridiculous. I am exercising that right. I would hope you supported my right as much as I support yours.

Well good for them. The White House has decided to expose the president to some of the hard questions after all:

quote:

Fox's Major Garrett gets interview with Obama

(AP)  NEW YORK — President Barack Obama will give an interview to Fox News Channel's Major Garrett, perhaps signaling a thaw in relations between the network and administration. The White House confirmed Tuesday that Garrett will be included among a round of network interviews that the president is giving Wednesday in Beijing. Garrett also posted news of the interview on Twitter.

...

The White House was annoyed by Fox's aggressive coverage of protests against the president's health care plan over the summer. Dunn's comment that Fox is "more of a wing of the Republican Party" brought the administration's displeasure into focus.

Fox has contended that the White House does not make a distinction between Fox's straight news coverage and more opinion-oriented shows with such commentators as Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

Since then, Dunn has left the job, which she said she was only doing on a temporary basis. Dan Pfeiffer has replaced her as White House communications director.

Seems like a lot of Obama appointees were only doing the job on a temporary basis.

"Perhaps signalling a thaw..."  LOL  How about signalling a surrender and utter failure of a White House program that was just plain doomed and dumb to begin with?

Spinner its called 'the fairness doctrine' it used to be in effect back when all you could get was the liberal point of view. Reagan did away with it and opened up the airwaves for all kinds of speech.

The WH does not like Fox news or anyone who dares defy the administration. Just ask Lou Dobbs.

It makes them look infantile and small minded. Now they have to chAnge course because as it turns out no one watches CNN and MSNBC
