FR, after edified read thru Steven, I think bad German accents have been around a lot longer than 'Blazing Saddles' . .. . . . . Up until the dissolution of the Soviet Union the Germans (preferably circa WWII-ish) & the Commies were the 'bad guys' for crappy teevee, cinema, & etc, so, lots & lots of 'vee haff vays uff making you talk' & so on & so forth . . . . . Personally, I picked up the (typically ironic, et al) use of 'weal' & 'twue' here & mostly use it with reference to the context I understand from reading here -- snarkily aimed at the preachings of the proselytizers of this or that sect of the One Weal & Twue Way to BDSM . . . . . .
