Rush must be the envy of progressives everywhere. Not only is he the most listened to radio host ever but I'm pretty sure there are more threads started about him here than anyone, including Barack Obama.

Obama even feels so threatened by Rush Limbaugh that he's taking Rush on directly.

'Ol Rush Limbaugh must have something going for him. All thats's awfully good, for an imbecile!

I know I am jealous as hell over Rush. I wish we liberals had a voice that was so completely uninterested in truth, integrity or dignity. Of course, then we'd have to find a way to make the liberals as gullible as the conservatives who actually believe in what Rush says, so I suppose it wouldn't work anyway.

Baseless name calling, smears, and underhanded personal attacks...

I wish I could say that its amazing what passes for reasoned debate here, but after a time that which is commonplace ceases to amaze.

What do you expect? When your sole purpose is to constantly stir up shit with hostile, taunting, bullshit posts, don't be surprised if some shit gets stirred up every now and then.

This is exactly the kind of reaction you're trying to provoke, and what do you know - every now and then  it works. Surprise, surprise. There are a lot of conservative posters here who never seem to draw that kind of reaction, but it follows you around like a cloud of flies. Ever stop and wonder why?

We expect Rush to make up lies. Its his job. We expected Rather to tell the truth. Thats why he lost his job.

That depends on your view of Rush.

I agree that he makes up lies, but we have members of the Republican Party such as Michael Steele and Eric Cantor saying he is a respected voice of conservatism.

No, obviously its news when Rush merely gets punked. Imagine the uproar if he actually did get caught making something up... like Dan Rather (who was a news anchor) did.

He's been caught making dozens of things up, and I and others have posted those links for you on numerous threads, but you just pretend that you never have seen them and carry on telling us what a great symbol of integrity he is.

tazzygirl -> RE: Rush Limbaugh and Dan Rather partners in crime (10/25/2009 3:06:49 PM)

I never understood why CBS would fire Rather, but still pay him 6 million a year, if what he did was that bad.

Speaks volumes about what the republican party leadership considers to be the criteria for respect and leadership in their party, doesn't it?

Rather simply reported a story that turned out to be false.

As I recall from the last Rather lawsuit that was thrown out, Dan is still trying to insist that the story is true...

To sound like a conspricy theory person, I believe Rush was set up. I think Obama set him up and he was dumb enough to fall for it.

I've seen a great many things of a complimentary nature said about Rush in these forums, RML.  I myself have praised him highly for his skill at getting people to listen to commercials for Sleep Number beds (ie; saying he is very good at what he does).  I don't recall anyone calling him a symbol of integrity.

Are you now asking us to engage with you on an issue while you pretend you don't know the difference between an evening news anchor, and a radio talk show host?  Get back under your bridge.

The lawsuit was thrown out because they were still paying Rather 6 million a year.

Obama set Rush up ?........ Are you serious ?  Really ?

I believe, and I could be wrong about this, that they were contractually obligated to pay him - whether or not he was even on the air. Basically, they paid out the rest of his contract.

tazzygirl -> RE: Rush Limbaugh and Dan Rather partners in crime (10/25/2009 5:07:37 PM)

I just find it.. amusing... that Fox can admit to forcing their news people to add things to a story and make up lies... and no one cares.  Yet Rather is dragged across the mud for something he still says he has proof of.

servantforuse -> RE: Rush Limbaugh and Dan Rather partners in crime (10/25/2009 6:45:44 PM)

If Dan Rather has proof of his made up article, why don't he let us all see it ?

kdsub -> RE: Rush Limbaugh and Dan Rather partners in crime (10/25/2009 7:11:41 PM)

Will I see rather then talk about Limbaugh's lack of professionalism and integrity...his supporters try to concentrate on Dan Rather. Does Limbaugh represent conservative values and truth in reporting or not.

If as some supporters have stated he has no integrity…does this mean integrity is not important to conservative thinkers?

As he stated it makes no difference if this report is a fake I know he thinks it…is that the leadership you want and deserve?

Must you win at any cost?

Butch

[sm=threadhijack.gif]

Again. (Sigh).

So what "hostile taunting bullshit" did I use to stir up shit on this thread, Panda.

Please be specific if you can. What exactly am I guilty of. Arguing a point with mnottertail?

Or something even worse than that.  [sm=tired.gif]

Regarding your contention that other conservatives here don't draw that kind of reaction...  first, what kind of reaction, and second, how do I do it. How is it my fault when any given Liberal on here reduces him or herself to petty namecalling and personal attacks and smears - please explain that one to me. What am I doing other than arguing and proving them wrong... or is that my only sin.

And as always, those were more strawman arguments too...

My "sole purpose"?

I'm "trying to provoke" that nonsense?

No Panda, my purpose is just a little bit of thought provoking discussion and debate, with maybe a little bit of fun along the way. However, these constant attacks against me on your part makes me wonder if what you're saying isn't the truth about what you're doing here.

MasterJack53 -> RE: Rush Limbaugh and Dan Rather partners in crime (10/25/2009 7:26:34 PM)

yes really. And he is setting up the U.S. to fall too. I'll be around when yu wake up and realize whats going on. And I promise not to say I told you so.

servantforuse -> RE: Rush Limbaugh and Dan Rather partners in crime (10/25/2009 7:30:36 PM)

Maybe it was Robert Gibbs that set Rush up to fail ? Just kidding.

MasterJack53 -> RE: Rush Limbaugh and Dan Rather partners in crime (10/25/2009 7:34:03 PM)

who's he?
