ORIGINAL: DelightMachine Well I thought it was a ****ing %$#@ of a joke, and for those of you who don't think so, you can **** yourselves! I agree totally with Whatsisname, whose posting the rest of you %^&*ing stupid *&^%$ need to reread. Some of you need to learn a little sensitivity, and some others are way too thin-skinned to be participating on the message boards. You ****ing well know who you ****ing well are. Yes, it's only a joke, but this is a &^%ing matter of principle, you #@%$ing stupid ^%&*s!!!!!! An interesting if cryptic response. You have really shot a huge hole in your objection because you resort to name calling. When a viewpoint is weak and not well thought out, name calling is what some turn to to drive their "point" home. I believe that you may be articulate enough to make an objection without regressing in to the immature. So, using what appears to be your reasoning, because I found the joke funny that I need to be more sensitive? I have read this thread through a few times and what I found quite interesting is the gentleman that objected to it did so in a very juvenile way. Now, before anyone jumps on me and tears me limb from limb, I respect his viewpoint and I am not calling him immature. And his second post was well thought out and a good explanation of his position. He has just as much right to post his displeasure with the joke as I do to support the poor guy that posted the joke in the first place. The fact that I laughed at this joke does not make me insensitive... you don't know me and by what you do know of me from a few posts on the Internet will not give you enough information to draw that conclusion. Because I find something funny should not pigeon-hole me into a category of your own choosing. My own opinions aside for the moment, I am not homophobic. They can live their lives as they see fit and I will live mine. If they care to make a joke about a slightly overweight, balding, divorced, middle-aged guy I could give a shit less in fact, more power to them. I guess what disturbs me the most about the entire controversy over this joke is the simple fact that political correctness has gotten to the point that anyone, anywhere, anytime can yell at the top of their lungs, "I AM OFFENDED," and everyone is supposed to cease whatever it was that was "offensive." I make no apologies for the fact that I laughed. I am sure that some were offended, but I have said it before and it does bear repeating... this is a humor section. What I find funny might not be what you find funny.
