Thank you Rosie, Yeah I asked her to de emphasize the double chin and the redness and then I think I can live with it. I do, however love how she painted in a flattering back ground. We'd taken the original picture against an ugly white stucco wall, cause it was the best we could do at the time, and I had some other pictures of us, with beautiful green bushes behind us, and she took the beautiful green bushes from one shot an put them into the painting, and that was so cool of her to do. quote:
ORIGINAL: MistressRosalyn I admit that TFTB's admit is reminding me of when an artist friend of mine did a portrait for this one couple. He was painting from a photo, and he got it spot on, but the angle on the gal's nose was not as flattering as it could have been. The hubby kept sending it back, and my artist friend finally asked for my opinion in desperation. (If the guy wasn't happy, my friend wouldn't get paid!) So I explained about the nose thing, and that people want pictures to look like they THINK they look...and he fixed it so she looked cuter, and Voila! Everyone was happy. So...having said that, I admit that TFTB should ask the artist to adjust the painting a little, making her look less red, and "fixing" whatever else she isn't happy with, perhaps explaining the "cute and quirky" thing. But remember, in 20 years, you will wonder what the problem was, and you will realize that you looked just fine!
