I admit that I agree with Linnaea, totally, and thank Red for her kindness and willingness to not bash me for being some sort of devil-worshipper which I most certainly am NOT. I admit that I have this "wagon wheel" philosophy that I would like to share. I admit that it goes something like this: Picture an old wooden wagon wheel, like the ones on all the covered wagons which crossed this great nation a few centuries ago with hope inside them. Simple form, this wheel has: a round, perfectly circular rim, a connecting hub, and some spokes. Now let us say that the rim around the outside is people. All people that are alive on the Earth right now, all that have ever lived, and all that are yet to be born; of all tribes, cultures, faiths, philsophies, and countries of origin, everywhere. That's your rim. Now let us suppose that the hub down there in the middle is (bear with me here, pls) God/Goddess/the genderless Divine/the Creator/the Great Spirit/Higher Power of ten thousand faces and names/the Force which is responsible for and the progenitor of all that is in the entirety of the Universe ever since the Big Bang. With me so far? Good. Now, please notice your spokes. There are quite a few of them. They're all basically the same though, aren't they? They all connect the rim straight with the hub in exactly the same way, and they all provide structure and support for the whole of the wheel, they all lead from and to the same place, and no single one of the spokes, none of them could stand in this function alone. Imagine such a wheel with only one spoke (One Way). What would happen under the slightest bit of pressure? It would break and collapse into shards and splinters, and there would be no wheel anymore. That is why we and all our many facets of faith are a good, supportive, and necessary part of each other, and why bashing those of alternative faiths or belief systems is just plain wrong and makes no sense to me. P.S. Another smidgen oh my personal philosophy that I favor, which concerns the fallacy of "the image of God": if horses had consciousness of themselves and a Creator, what do you suppose their Creator would look like? A horse. Also, the path to "God" is a wide highway with many lanes, room enough for everyone to travel on, and all lanes on this highway lead to the same place eventually - home. Just sayin', with love. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program, and thanx for listening. )O(
