His name was Jack Suddreth (the family came over on the Mayflower). He worked in the coal mines all his life, married twice, kept bees until he was 95, had two different girlfriends until he was 90 (one was named Garnet...she was kickass), and picked cherries out of the tree last August. And I can only hope I am as badassater as he was when I am that age...that is, if Ihaven't managed to accidentally kill myself.

He was the best storyteller. My favorite is how he caught a panther in a rabbit trap.

I admit that My mead bottle is a 24 oz one and I have plenty to lift a glass to Grandpa Jack.

I admit it the panther in the rabbit trap story sounds a little like the mosquitos who worked for the blood bank one my Father used to tell me.

I admit it we should swap family stories one day.

I admit.....
last night one of my fellow volunteer firefighters died in the line of duty. I got paged to the fire but have been on leave from the station for almost 9 months for medical reasons.
Saturday is the viewing and Monday the funeral. I admit..... it's the one obligation I hate to fulfill. The doc tells me to avoid being outside in the cold because my throat/lungs still spasm from the cold temps. I admit....I'm going anyway because, well, that's what we do. It's going to be rough.

edited for typo. cuz I'm tired but can't sleep.
