Status: offline 		I admit that I would like to know WTH is wrong with the quote feature that it is sticking signature blocks inside the quotes???

I admit that I am happy to report that my Things' former sitter was not calling because of bad news (which has sometimes been the case during times of unrest overseas) but rather, to invite Thing 2 and me to her youngest sister's birthday party. It is for "women only" and will be a traditional (customs, foods, etc.) party of a girl her age.

I admit that there are at least 80 women and girls expected to attend already. It is, traditional, as I said, and she asked me to "feel free to wear [my] party clothes."

I admit that "party clothes" means my sari and all of my bling. I informed her I don't think I can fit into any of them anymore. She laughed.

I admit that I am always the "token white chick" at these parties (Sri Lankan, Indian, Afghani, Jordanian, Pakistani), and it makes my heart ticklish. I have often wondered if the women from these far-off countries realize that I am about as pasty white as they come.

I admit that several of the ladies have told me that they feel that I am "one of them." That gives me a huge happy.

I admit that I hope her auntie who is a professional belly dancer will be there! She is awesome!!!

(now to break it to Thing 2 that she will have to wear something than her big brother's hand-me-downs)

Status: offline 		Oh, and if you have the sari (the big long length of fabric) but just dont think you can fit into the choli anymore (the spiffy fitted top), you can get away with wearing a sports bra  and wrapping the sari in a way that covers the sports bra completely. There are a LOT of traditional wrapping styles, not all of them are quite as "revealing" as the ones you usually see on tv. Many completely hide the belly and midsection...which is great for those of us who dont like showing that part....

Status: offline 		I admit that my one regret with my transition will be that my female bellydance clothes won't be appropriate for me to wear anymore.  I'll probably keep them anyway though - lots of good memories in those.

I admit I considered getting married in a sari, but was talked into a big white wedding dress instead.

I admit that, though both saris and my wedding dress are lovely, the thought of me wearing either at this point cracks me up.  I can't even look at my wedding photos anymore, it's just bizarre for me.

Status: offline 		I admit that I have 2 Kandyan saris (specifically for women of the region of Kandy, SL) that I wore for both my wedding in the US and in SL, as well as the Indian sari.

I admit I definitely need a new hatte (Sri Lankan word for choli) because I have bigger boobs and everything now than in 1999. Crapper-monkeys, I am not pleased with this. I have a SL lady friend who is a designer, but there's no way in hell I can get to her before the weekend. I will take into consideration the alternative top suggestions.

I admit that I have all the bling. My in-laws had a ton of 22K gold jewelry made for my weddings, both here and there.

I admit that I will try and get my scanner hooked up and put my sari photos up elsewhere if anyone wants to see them (and me, about a gazillion pounds ago). LOL

ps ~ a fancy salwar kameez would be great, too... they are always too small and waaaay too short for someone just under 6 feet tall

Status: offline 		Actually...they DO make them....two of my best friends in the gym wear a size G sports bra. I can get you the info for the places they order from if anyone is interested. They are always raving about how fabulous they are in comfort and support.

I admit Id buy one if they made them in a b cup. pouts.


~edited to add...YES I can make salwars....but you dont need me! Usually when you purchase something like that, either from a regular site or even from ebay (they have AWESOME styles/designs/prices) what you are actually purchasing is just the fabric, then for an additional charge of usually CHEAP, they will sew it to your specifications, or if you are a sewer, they will just send you the fabric.

I admit that there are lots of places that sell them or make them outright (lots of international folks in my area), but it's a time and money issue right now.

I admit that I would be willing to loan some of my bewbage to someone. But you have to take a bit of the ass and tummy, too. I'm a package deal that way. *nods*
