I am still kind of freaked out by the visit Mother Nature paid to my town... a tornado landed less than a half mile from my house on Wednesday.

I am fine, my house is fine, my family is fine and despite the statewide devastation there were only 4 fatalities (one of which isn't officially counted as it was a heart attack).

I am still kind of freaked out though and feel silly about that.

And yet, I am freaked about it and I don't know why.
Logically I know everything is fine... .

But by a twist of fate it might not have been.

I admit it I lived in San Francisco during the Pretty Big One of 1989.

I admit it even though I spoke to my sister on the phone & everyone was ok, I still needed to drive the 60 mi to touch them all.

I admit it I couldn't go to work the next day, which really surprised me.

I admit it I'm posting all of this to let you know that your reaction is perfectly normal in my book.

I admit it my date went very well tonight, which surprised the heck outta me.

I admit it I am going to start volunteering for his non-profit after he gets back from Twisted Tryst a week from Monday.

I admit it I'm excited but nervous about this.

I admit it I believe in the cause the non-profit is lobbying for.

I admit there was some kind of fire tonight, gunshots in the distance, and police and fire trucks racing up and down.  Thankfully not close to the car I was sitting in.
