Actually Aries, it is quite miss named. There is no meat in mincemeat. In butter tarts, your basic ingredients are eggs, brown sugar, vanilla and raisins. I make this from scratch.

Mincemeat by Crosse & Blackwell contains apples, raisins, corn syrup, molassas currents, vinegar, suet, rum, spices, lemon peel, dehydrated apples, brandy, orange peel and orange juice. This was purchased at my local grocery.

I make both types of tarts because the men in my family love them. I personally do not like the taste.

I admit when I was a kid my mom would make raisin stuffed cookies and I loved them. Unfortunately she no longer bakes and I've tried making them but they just don't taste the same. Plus, I'm the only one who eats anything with raisins. Neither my daughter or Master likes raisins.

I admit I like raisins on their own, but not in other foods. I'd eat an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie in a heartbeat but I'll pass on oatmeal raisin, thank you very much.

I admit we buried my BIL today. I admit after they lowered the casket, the boys stood over the edge and looked down, and the 14 year old broke down. I admit that scene ripped my heart out.

I admit "Sister A", who basically removed herself from our family since our dad died, came to help my sister (the one who lost her husband).

I admit I have mixed feelings, since she hasn't been around at ALL for my BIL's entire illness, and now here she is (arrived yesterday) telling everyone how hard it's been but the hardest part is over now. I'm glad she's helping my sister, but come on....really???

I admit I bit my tongue a LOT today.

I admit I'm off work tomorrow and going to my sister's house, and "Sister A" will be there. I think I'll just run whatever errands are needed (picking up the boys from school, picking up death certificates, etc.)

I admit I talked to my sister for a long time tonight and she admitted to not being very comfortable with "Sister A's" approach to things, and I told her I think "Sister A's" intentions are good but not to do anything she feels uncomfortable with. She said she felt better after talking it through, so I'm glad.

I admit I'm pretty tired now...a memorial last Saturday (dear family friend) and the burial today...and next Tuesday is the memorial for my BIL.

I admit it's all starting to catch up with me.

I admit I agree with this, and that I'm struggling to feel gratitude right now.

I also admit it's good for me to go through this; I'm learning more about myself, and it is an opportunity to reflect on some of my own life philosophies.

i admit if i were strong enough to move the dryer so i could reach the plug, i'd never get to the plug because i'd still be looking for the off switch.


Chaos will enjoy this when i ask him. He'll ask if i tried to put the machine in the freezer. i admit i used to have a cellphone, but i had the same problem with that machine.

Try manually moving the timer to zero.

alternatively, you can google the make and model and download an owners manual.

I admit when I left my actual workplace to help out at the temporary place I was quite pleased to have left the "head lice" there (we have them currently there due to some kids)...

I admit that changed today cause the boss there now placed out the warning as we have now streptococcus there [8|]

I admit I miss more and more my office job from the past and am not surprised if I am working back in there in about 10 years time...

I admit I managed today to get my car into my garage....thank god [:)]

I admit this weekend we are supposed to get warmer temperatures again so the snow should be starting to melt....nice idea but hard to imagine right now...cause whilst our 30cm snow here is nothing compared to some areas at your side of the pond....it is more than I like when I am having to use the car [:o]

i admit that there is no cell phone service where we are on vacation for the next 4 days.

i admit that i am rather excited. i admit that i love persimmon fruit, but they tend to be rather expencive here in the uk. in all the fruit i have ever bough i have never found a seed....until tonight! i admit i am going to try and grow it. i should be able to germinate it with no problems, but i have no idea if the tree will be able to grow here with our climate, and produce fruit. anyway....i admit i am very excited to have found this very rare store bought fruit seed.

i admit i miss my playmate.

i admit i am very tired and would love to be tangled up with him chilling out.

i admit i am going to be very busy over the next three days with work, and helping my friends shift stuff. i admit that i am not looking forward to friday's 10hour shift.

Aries....mince pies used to contain meat. then we got spices and so started spicing the meat. we also started adding dried fruit that was rehydrated with brandy/whiskey. then they started putting in less meat so more fruits could be added. over time the mince pie has become a sweet, but once it was just a spiced mince meat pie.

the dryer....just open the door, that's how mine works.
