I admit, four years ago today I met the Mister for the first time. I admit it's been an awesome four years. I admit I was at a social gathering at my boss' house last night and we were talking about how there are never any earthquakes in Sacramento, and I was saying being from the SF Bay Area, I thought earthquakes were kinda fun (except the one in 1989 when I thought I was going to die) and that I miss them a little. I admit, about 3 hours later when I was home, we had a fucking earthquake!!!! I couldn't believe it!!! (And yes, it was fun, although a little unnerving, given the conversation we had just had, and how Sacramento hasn't had an earthquake in something like 20 years). I admit, I called my 11 year old niece because her mom texted that she was really scared, and I told her when I lived in a different place, we had them a few or more times a year, and they're actually kind of fun. She said "But the couch was swaying" and I said "That's when you hop on it, through your hands in the air, and scream Weeeeeee, Mom, take a picture, I'm on a roller coaster!!" She totally laughed. I said and when it's all over, have some popcorn like you just saw a show and need a treat. She laughed and said the popcorn might fly all over. So I said "The next time you're eating popcorn, throw a bunch of it in the air and shout, Look, Mom, it's an earthquake!!!" She hung up laughing and not scared anymore. Thankfully, her mom thought the popcorn story was funny I admit, the girlchild is back with her mom....finally. I admit, some of the people I talk to from these message boards are just so cool, and I'm feeling grateful today.
