"All this whining, crying, pitchin' a fit - get over it."

First of all, I should make clear that I'm pretty much in agreement with you as far as this bill is concerned. The reason I question their character is because I'm judging them in a larger context than that one video and that one incident. The republicans have fought every aspect of health care reform right from square one, forcing the dems to strip out almost everything that would have made it a good and effective bill, offering absolutely no sincere alternative proposals or constructive involvement, making no attempt whatsoever to compromise or contribute, and some of them have openly admitted they were doing it because they felt that the best way to cripple the Obama presidency was to defeat health care. It's not simply a question of them opposing this bill - they have fought tooth and nail to prevent any health care reform at all, or to at least damage it to the point where it causes real harm to tens of millions of innocent citizens, and for no other reason than party ideology.

That's evil. That's corrupt. That's nothing short of a crime against humanity and a betrayal of both their country and their vows of office, and that's why I question their morality. This video is just a snapshot of one brief moment in their year-long fight to strengthen their party by harming the people who elected them, and their piously beseeching their "god" to help them in that cause is sickening to me.

The blanket, false, and down right ridiculousness of just what is highlighted is extraordinary, and speaks so loudly for itself that just highlighting them is enough. i won't even bother to comment on the 2nd paragraph. All i can say is just WOW. As conservative as i am...i have NEVER, and COULD never, bring myself to, in good conscience, condemn ALL liberals. i am just happy there are decent, and fair minded folks out there of ALL parties.

I don't know why you found it so ridiculous.

Out of 177 Republican members of the House exactly one voted for the health care reform bill and exactly zero Republican members of the Senate voted for their version.

Do you think these fair-minded folks were acting on their consciences or were other motives present?

Good luck getting an answer out of her on that. I'm still waiting for her to explain just exactly how my pointing out that the republicans fought the bill was somehow an attack on all conservatives. The discussion's taken a rather strange turn.

Don't get too worked up, its only an Internet chat board.

Quite ironic given your habit of firing abusive emails at people who disagree with you.

Oh, you too? He's a riot, isn't he? Frothemouthed personal attacks in e-mail, but everytime he gets in trouble in public he starts whining about people taking the boards too seriously. He's funnier than hell, isn't he?

suchahoe -> RE: God, Smite This Health Care Bill! (12/26/2009 2:19:47 PM)

actually if you want truth, the Republicans offered things to fix healthcare without the Destruction that this bill would bring to the system. HOWEVER the democrat party kills any good ideas. and works with what is left, i shoulnt say it this way (BUT THATS A BOTTOM FEEDER)

ThatDamnedPanda -> RE: God, Smite This Health Care Bill! (12/26/2009 2:23:08 PM)

Oh, yeah. Tort reform. How could I have forgotten that?

Sanity -> RE: God, Smite This Health Care Bill! (12/26/2009 2:24:38 PM)

What I personally find particularly humorous is the way the Democrats blame the bill that they alone crafted (in the dark underneath Harry Reid's desk) on the Republicans...

There is no getting around it. Our government is currently run by clowns...

As I told "polite" sub earlier:

quote:

Oh, for gods sake grow up. I told you that you were rude in an email two years ago and you're still crying over it? If you're still having issues after this much time, see a shrink.

Maybe you and Panda could ask around and get a bulk rate on therapy together. Tell them you have "sanity" issues. I'm sure they'll understand!

And fucking get over it.

Less regulation so the insurance companies could make more profit and thus charge lower premiums. That free market thing, ya know.

tazzygirl -> RE: God, Smite This Health Care Bill! (12/26/2009 2:50:15 PM)

Well, gee, havent they had.. years... to do this... and yet they havent?

Sanity -> RE: God, Smite This Health Care Bill! (12/26/2009 3:38:03 PM)

An unrepentant Socialist such as yourself who espouses mass murdering Conservatives isn't really the ideal person to be pretending to give the Republican rebuttal, Panda.

Let me see if I've got this straight.

Some guy joins a kinky site and jumps right into the politics forums for post #1.

Right.

Who, me? No, I'm not spousing anyone. I've been divorced for years. No prospects on the horizon, either. Are you sure you're not thinking of some other giant black-and-white bearlike creature?

Ah, I think I get it now.

You're right, Lucy; I've never made an argument for exterminating all  conservatives.

And even if I did, I doubt I could make even half as convincing an argument for it as Sanity does every time he posts.

Of course, because we all know that sanity represents all republicans, while brain can stand in for all the democrats. Simplifies things that way.

Sanity -> RE: God, Smite This Health Care Bill! (12/26/2009 9:45:07 PM)

Why don't you explain to us how you believe I make a convincing argument for exterminating all conservatives every time I post, Panda.

Now there's an argument that could get people serious about third parties!
