In the service of my Owner?  Nothing I can think of.  Nothing's been hard.

In my life?  Probably being forced to testify against my Father during my parents' divorce when I was young.  My Mother wanted me to lie and say bad things about him.  So, there I am on the witness stand...being basically asked to choose between my two parents. :-/

Not very fun.  I just clammed up and refused to say anything.

Hrm....  That's something I'll never forget.

For clip, I would have to think it was his last/current deployment.  I know it's troubled him a great deal to be separated again.

Within my relationship? I think one of those would be a really private matter of telling him some devestating news that crushed us both. The other would be recounting the events of a dangerous situation he had given his permission for me to be a part of when I had been sure it would not be. He believed he had made a poor decision with regard to my well being. I knew that there were a lot of things neither of us could have predicted that occurred. I also knew that I was so thankful he allow me that opportunity, even with the dangers, because it meant a great deal to me and helped me kind of rekindle my own spark that had long extinguished. Still to have to watch him second guess himself was very difficult. There is another such opportunity in another six months and I can only hope he will be of the mind to let me get out there again. I'd really love it if he would accompany this time.

Thanks for the clarification.

In that case it'll have to be the first time I entered a Master/slave relationship. I am Canadian and he was American and I cut all ties to family and friends to move to the US. Only one person back in Canada had a phone # to contact me in case of any emergency. In essence, I had no safety net to fall back on if anything happened to me. I had very little money and wasn't able to work in the US due to no work permit and was completely at the mercy of a person I only know for less than a year.  It is something I do not recommend anyone else doing!

I did have a guardian angel who made sure that I had enough money  to return to Canada when the relationship I was in broke down and I left. Agreed, there were several mistakes on my part and ensured I will not make them again!

one of the difference between this and nilla, one of the biggies is the dedication we need to ourselves and the relationship

I don't think there's any difference in the dedication to succeed in a lifestyle relationship and in a vanilla relationship.  It's all the same.
