Remember those old "Zombie" movies from the 60's and 50's where the zombies would be walking around in a trance arms outstretched in front of them?
It'd be fun if they made a new one about "global warmers!"
Scenes with the zombies getting batted over the head, shot, decapitated.
Hey Mitch! Here they come and I'm out of ammo!"
"No were not, grab those fire extinguishers! Use them like flame throwers!"
"Yeah, CO2 extinguishers!!! That'll put their "fire" out, Ha, Ha, Ha!
"Here comes their leader "Glacierface, let him have it!
"TSHHHHHHH! TSHHHHHH TSHHHHHHH,........"AGGGGGGHHHHH! I'm MELT-ING!"
"Ha! We got 'em on the run now Charlie!"
"Ok, grab those snow shovels and let's go finish them off!

Just replace radiation with global warming and my favorites film of my childhood would fit it just fine

HERE

I usually refrain from clicking on links. I clicked on that one.

What a hoot!! They selected some well crafted language on that one.

It really is an "Us vs. Them" world.

I am a non-believer.

I'd like to see your peer reviewed journal articles that speak to the contrary on global warming. I have seen one article that said that global warming wasn't occurring, supposedly written by some MIT professor in meteorology, however, he cited no references, the article was on a politically biased website, and the man's name couldn't be found listed among the faculty of MIT. That's the only article that I've seen that said that global warming wasn't happening.

I have seen plenty of articles contrary to this, though. Most articles state that global warming, whilst may be due to natural events, such as Earth cycles and seasonal cycles, the effects are exacerbated by anthropogenic activity. There's a lot more going on than just the disruption of the carbon cycle. There is the disruption of the Nitrogen cycle. Furthermore, there are other pollutants released into the atmosphere through manufacturing processes that have even greater significant impacts than CO2. Here is a list of ozone depleting substances along with their global warming potential along with the atmospheric lifetime of each substance.

C'mon Savage, I answered your questions. If you want to see links to peer reviewed articles you need go no further than this site, there must be a dozen threads at least about this subject in here.
And as regards "MIT professors," back in 98-99' when I was living in N.H. I was watching WCVB- channel 5 News in Boston when they interviewed an MIT professor at MIT (which is actually in Cambridge, Mass) who the Clinton Admin. had listed as an academic who "supported" "global warming."
He replied that not only did he *not give permission* for his name to be used on that list but that "global warming" was "junk science."
So, the lies started early.

Science isn't what it used to be. There is a corporate hand involved now that I believe perverts a lot of the research.

"Trust Us, We're Experts!" is a book by Sheldon Rampton and John Stauber that details some of this.

You haven't hooked me up with any peer reviewed journal articles.

Savage, I'm not going to "hook you up" with anything. I told you where you can find what you're looking for, is there a problem with that?
I've been going back and forth with the zombies for the last four years or so and it's like shoveling shit against the tide of ignorance!

Seems another of the undead has surfaced.

It says to me that you can't back up your claims. All you did was say go look it up in the threads. That's ridiculous. I gave you a link to a legitimate source of information. You haven't produced anything comparable. However, you have resorted to insults, which is telling in its own right.

You can come to me all you like, it doesn't change the fact that he resorted to insults and refuses to cite any references on behalf of his statements.

Does that include those who use less than 100 years of scientific data to concluded that the earth is warming up? Those who study 5% of the glaciers and see a minor reduction (while ignoring the other 95% that are the same size or larger)? Those ignorance-filled BS arguments?

The emails suggesting that a few people may have slanted the evidence? The right leaning element on here has been going beserk over that since the story broke. Apparently it proves that the whole notion of anthropic global warming is a scam cooked up by Al Gore to make American industry look bad.

There is only one way to kill a global warming zombie - you have to run them over with an SUV or a HUMVEE.

I've never heard of them. But American Industry doesn't need any help looking bad, they already do on their own, just look at Monsanto. Then there are all the problems with industrialized farming. Then there's the problem with companies outsourcing to 3rd world nations where they can better exploit labor. No, global warming is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the evils of big business are concerned.

Dont put words in my mouth, and no, I do not believe in using such bad statistics as proof for warming, but of course if Im a tree hugger, I must be crazy about global warming huh?, BUT that just aint true. Its a bullshit reaction and  one that brings out the reaction of a loud raspberry and relegation of their opinion to the garbage where it belongs.
As your opinion means diddlysquat to me, its  just a raspberry for you.well done
As I said, Im not getting into a BS filled argument, and you just made my point, Making assumptions makes an ass, etc etc.

I sorta took this post as fun...damn i hope it doesn't become another of the many many many global warming arguments we've already had over and over a over again.

I saw yesterday they found a 450 million year old elephant and they called it a Woolly mammoth and they said they might use its DNA to make another one using a live elephant to give birth; apparently it was frozen for that long and well preserved. They can do it because the biologist was already doing it for animals that are endangered species.
