in what ways do you own her?
this is for the owner property crowd, you freedom loving women stand over there and giggle--------->
also what does it mean to you (submissives) to be owned?

You can't own people you can only own their dreams and ambitions; they either want to be with you based on how you present yourself and manipulate their existing dreams and ambitions or they don't. You see it with marriage, people could be better off apart but sometimes they stay together for the sake of a few distant memories of how it once was. That would be ownership when it would take emotionally more effort to leave than stay.
We don’t call it ownership however but convenience or similar common expression.

There is no useful general definition of  "Real Ownership" - not least because as a matter of fact "real ownership" of another person has absolutely no standing in western democracies and nearly all of the rest of the world as well.

she is the one owned, she defines what ownership is and if it feels real to her it's real, he can help her along by giving her a reason to feel that way

I don't think it works if one side defines it - it has to be defined by both owner and owned.

quote:

he can spout i own you all day long but until she feels yes nada , notice i said feels yes and and not says yes

I noticed, and have to say that your nuanced prose often leaves me teary-eyed...
quote:

to me ownership is synonymous to control and to control you have to know her as well if not better than she knows herself, not a instant, quick or effortless accomplishment. one does not control by spouting orders and leaving her to deal with the emotional effort by herself. he has to be intimately involved with her efforts at everything. her success is his success and her failures are also his failures etc, etc, etc, to those that feel about this as i do the etc's are understood

it's a bloody team effort

i don't think i could put that much effort into more than one woman, i'd rather control one woman well than 2+ women not as well, it's the maximum level of control that is the turn on for me

sorta sounds cooperative to me

and in case you hadn't noticed, this way of life defies literal logic more so that normal life so we have to come up with a philosophy that works, hey if heideger could redefine "THEY" im sure we're allowed a few liberties here and there to make sense of something that is totally absurd on the face of it. oh well you think about it the way you want and i'll try to make sense of it my way

It means exactly what the word says.. "owned". I will never understand why such concepts are so difficult to understand. I own my car. I own my computer. I own my wife. Easy.

For me, "ownership" has nothing to do with span of authority. The very concept of property rights is a social construct. In the society of Carol and I, she sees herself as my owned property and so do I. I don't attach any other meaning to the word other than that.

Ownership is complex. It is multifaceted too. I own you and then I am responsible for you. You will do my bidding out of desire to do it and please me or out of fear of what will happen. Lets use orgasm control. You fail there you could have a pussy whipping that you would hate much more than the joy of the orgasm. On the other hand you need help or can not decide on things then I should decide for you and do it either with your best interest in mind or my pleasure and direction I want for you. I have to know when it is for me and for you. If I do my job right you will know you are owned. It is a two way street.

For us, the ownership goes both ways.  He is my dominant, my sir, my boyfriend, the man I love, etc.  I am his submissive, his kitten, his little girl, his girlfriend, his woman, etc.  We own each other by definition, in choosing to be together, to take he and I and to make it "us."
However, in a D/s sense, it means that I am happiest when I am living to please him.  It means I obey, I try to be pleasing in all things.  It means he understands and respects that side of me, and acts according me, allowing me to be his good little girl.

I own my woman when she feels more freedom under my dominance than living without me.

I own mastersslut69 and she's fantastic. The power feeling is certainly a rush but its the trust she has in me is the biggest turnon. To have someone who'll do as you say because they love and trust you so much is the best part of owning her.

Absolutely.
Ownership means she is mine, to do with as I wish, when I wish.

If I owned a woman, would it mean she was a tax-deductible purchase?

Control is a fiction, and rarely a pretty one.

Ownership ... hum ... well for starters actual slavery is one of two internatal law principles that there is agreement on. A bit of caution here, slavers are by international law criminals against all man kind. That formal definition means that with reasonable collateral damage you can arrest or 'take out" a slaver anywhere on the earth without being held legally accountable. Bet many people on here don't think that is the case but be careful what you mean by "ownership".

In fact, for this community ownership had better be a mutual agreement with a way for either party to leave the arrangement at anytime. There may be costs (this would fall in contractual law and constructionist legal theories). But you do not really want to legal own another human being. It might sound fun, but you are honestly establishing a contact between two parties to use someone and return some types of benefits mutually.

It would be better to say you have a binding or bound agreement with someone. You are bound to them. If you won them then well you just became a target. :)

And mutual agreement is needed in any "contract" ... also if there are fees involved well .... that might be okay in Vegas or Amsterdam but not in many other places. ;)

Yes, I was honest in vanilla relationships, but not in the way I am with my boyfriend. I am completely open and accessible to him in every way. I have never said "no" to him (one of the first things he told me when we decided to pursue a relationship was, "The word 'no' is no longer part of your vocabulary").

lucy,
