i have endometriosis. Among it's fun fun complications; my bra size can go between 34 c to 34 dd within three weeks due to hormone levels. i can't find a comfortable and supportive style, so i've gone braless as much as possible. So i need some help.

Does anyone know of a bra that can adapt to this? Perhaps with unmolded cups and/or stretchy materials ?

Sports bras just don't work. Maybe a nursing bra style, i've thought, but haven't had reason to buy them before.

Any thoughts would be welcomed...

Soap Box moment- Boobs are not shaped like oranges cut in halp! Why oh why are bra cups shaped like they are ???

Spanx makes an all-hosiery bra that's "stretchy" but still has lots of support.

http://www.spanx.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2990082&cp=2992555.3010052&parentPage=family

Not the most glamorous looking, but very comfy, and they do stretch as needed. And the straps don't dig into your shoulders! Very well made and worth the money.

*edited to add - and they also span cup sizes in one bra, i.e. C/D, etc.

I'm an in-between size (35B), so I have bras that are either 34C or 36B, depending on style and whether I want to push up my "girls" and show them off or have something soft and comfy.  Why not have bras in both sizes so you can change as needed?

Very good point SylvereApleanan. I was thinking more along the sports bra style. I had to get a couple after a biopsy. No wires and although they can be a bit snug, they are pretty comfortable.

That has kinda been SOP. Starting each day trying on x amount of bras to see which one fits that day... and then having to change later because of swelling or deflaiting...

i once found a great bra, at Wal-Mart of all places ! It wasn't sized by cups, and styled more like a cupped bralette, it was sized in Sm, Md, and Lg. It was made of a microfiber knit and felt very nice. i bought the large even though it looked tiny, for we'd recently moved and i couldn't find my bras. This garment was Perfect! Alas, i haven't been able to find them again, anywhere.

You could always go with corsets.  No cups at all but plenty of support.

i love them as outerware. Well breasted ladies can go braless in them.
And they are getting more accepted, not so many funny looks when grocery shopping.

i've been browser-shopping ( i think this is the online version of "window-shopping" ) and am favoring the look of some mommy bras. i'm thinking this is the way to go for the fluxing in size. Any advice of brands ? Never lactacted so some of this is strange territory. i know "leaking" isn't a factor for me...

Oh dear another question now... dern it. If it's not milk, what is making the girls bigger and smaller ? i know hormones levels are envolved, but i don't think estrogen would bleed out if i poked them.

Sometimes sporting goods stores carry those types, you might try there.

When I had my wee sprites, I went with a regular bra in a larger size during the pregnancy and a sports bra when the milk came in, so I'm not going to be a lot of help.  During the pregnancy (and during the moon times when I have them), it's hormone-induced water retention that's making them bigger.  If you aren't taking Midol or something that stops bloating, you could try that to help with your symptoms.  If you already use something like that, reduce your salt intake.  Salt makes you retain water.  Other than that, I got nothin'.

No, estrogen will not leak out, however estrogen can cause the breast ducts to swell or enlarge.

You should make sure that you are doing regular self-breast exams because this can increase your risk of breast cancer.

i am doomed.

i used to take midol like everyone else for bloating. But no, freak of nature that i am, i have a strange medical thingy where my body can't keep up stable potassium levels. Taking diaretics or laxatives is something i can't do without serious risk of heart or other organ failures. To add to the freakiness, my doctors incourage me to keep a high sodium intake, they aren't really clear as to why, only that the don't want to risk that dropping either... grr. i am the only person in the world that potato chips are a health food.

* facepalm on me *

If you can't take diuretics, how do you drink Mt. Dew/Dr. Pepper/etc.?  Caffeine is a diuretic.

The bras that you liked at Walmart....have you gone to their website to see if they still carry them there?   If not what about going to the company website and order directly from them?

Or has this company just gone "tits" up and no longer in business?

(sorry I just had to go there...lol)

Caffiene addiction. i've cut back a lot for the health reasons, but still drink enough mnt. dew to keep from withdrawal. ( i used to drink 4 liters + a day )

Since i do consume what i do of mnt. dew, ( down to a liter and 1/2 a day ) i try and avoid the other things that i know have a strong diurectic effect. It's still work in progress.

i have a doctor's apointment Monday, and hope to bring up the addiction and see if they can help me with it b/c i have been concerned with the relationship.

The crazy potassium condition and the endo hurt each other, if that makes sence. Sometimes it is hard to tell which one is causing me trouble, as muscle cramping could result from either.
