SadisticDesire -> RE: Are we perverted? (3/29/2006 6:36:55 PM)

HAHAHAHA as long as you dont think about it all the time!?!   Guess I'm just perverted lmao....

LaMalinche -> RE: Are we perverted? (3/30/2006 1:26:17 AM)

Only in the bedroom?  What is up with that. . . there are a lot of fun places to have perverted sex.

Sheesh.  Some people.

Best,

LaMalinche

All right, I'm glad you're all gathered here. Because you're about to hear the story of a driver, a swollen ankle, and get this, an iguana.

MsAlexaandJack -> RE: Are we perverted? (3/30/2006 2:52:38 AM)

I think what the Doctor said regarding children was right on the money. They don't need to know whats going on and as long as Mom and Dad keep it between themselves there shouldnt be any problem.

slaveladyj -> RE: Are we perverted? (3/30/2006 7:41:16 AM)

I guess we are all preverted. That was an amusing article from someone who has no idea what they are talking about. I say we all write back to her, and tell her to educate herself before giving advice out.

lypiphera -> RE: Are we perverted? (3/30/2006 7:49:43 AM)

i guess according to her were all perverted if we take it out of the bedrrom which is ridiculous some of the best parts of Ds are outside the sexual aspect....

slaveladyj -> RE: Are we perverted? (3/30/2006 7:57:33 AM)

I emailed her and this is what I said:
I read your article about S&M sex with my husband, and found it offensive to those you live a BDSM lifestyle 24/7. There are thousands, possibly millions , who practice this lifestyle. Most of us are normal, healthy people, who enjoy being either submissive or dominate. There is nothing perverted about us. We work, raise families, pay our taxes, like most of the rest of the country. If I like to scrub my kitchen floor while wearing chains, who are you to say I'm perverted? What does it matter to you, or to anyone else what I do beyond the doors of my home? As long as my behavior doesn't hurt anyone else, it is no one else's business, but this is true of everyone. There are those in this world, who hide their nature, hide their desires, healthy desires, until they explode, and then they become a danger to others. In no way, does my chosen lifestyle promote child or spousal abuse. BDSM is not about abuse in any way, shape or form. I suggest you learn more about the lifestyle before you condemn it out of hand.

Slipstreme -> RE: Are we perverted? (3/30/2006 9:31:46 AM)

At least she does realize that many people are into the fetish aspect of it. Alas though, it is ashame she doesn't understand D/s though, and from what it seems, most people here try to keep their BDSM hidden from their children anyway.

dorsaisgirl1 -> RE: Are we perverted? (3/30/2006 11:01:21 AM)

slaveladyj did she respond to the letter

slaveladyj -> RE: Are we perverted? (3/30/2006 11:09:39 AM)

They have a link so you can email her, but the link doesn't work. How's that? They don't want to hear what we have to say.

And this suprises anyone? Its easy for "experts" to spout what they belive, but try to educate them when they are wrong and watchout. Assuming of course you can actualy contact them, lol.

What you getting your panties all in a bunch for?  She wasn't pontificating.  She isn't posing as an expert on the subject.  Someone approached her and asked for her advice, because they value what she has to say.   The writer obviously wants a mainstream perspective.  If she wanted to know the perverts' opinions, she would have come here.

slaveladyj -> RE: Are we perverted? (4/1/2006 2:17:20 PM)

Did you read the article? She says those that live this, that think about it 24/7 were perverted. It's thinking that, that there is something wrong with our desires, that hold many back, and those that don't open up and explore end up being very unhappy people, unsatisified, and possibly dangerous. I have spent the better part of my life, thinking, it's wrong to think and feel this way. Well, no longer. It's who I am, and there's nothing wrong with that.

summerpls -> RE: Are we perverted? (4/4/2006 6:48:03 AM)

Hehehe .... this reminds me of years ago when I went to see a psychiatrist over issues that I needed to work out over my growing up .... this guy had lived a perfect life with perfect parents and gone to the perfect schools and was an obvious "textbook" shrink and knew nothing of real life as he had only experienced "textbook" ideas and a perfect life.  He ended up putting me on "prozak" for which I had absolutelly no need for and thought that it would take away or lessen my "obssesive" need to enjoy bdsm!!  No I did not take the prozak for long ... what he didn't seem to understand was that I never came to see him over my lifestyle ... and it ended up being the only thing he wanted to talk about!!

Your Queen -> RE: Are we perverted? (4/4/2006 7:18:56 AM)

I think that the article writer is a presumptious madam, at best.
Why mention children at all ?
The preceding question - "my wife doesn't want sex" doesn't advise the writer not to ask in front of the children, the subsequent question on nude photos doesn't caution the writer to make sure the children don't see it.
The woman is an uptight prig and a moron to boot.

RumpusParable -> RE: Are we perverted? (4/4/2006 7:33:26 AM)

the response seemed very positive and level-headed, just misunderstanding.  she seemed to be under the misapprehension that the questioner was thinking of taking sexual practices of D/s out of the bedroom, not just maintaining a submissive role and so she answered to that instead of what the person was truly asking.  it seemed to be more mixup than condemnation, especially as the rest of the response to the sexual side was very much "as long as everyone is happy, go for it!".

Your Queen -> RE: Are we perverted? (4/4/2006 8:05:05 AM)

With respect, Rumpusparable, that's no excuse - As a psychiatrist, she should understand the way things work or keep her trap shut.
No psychiatrist worth their salt would comment on things they don't know about or haven't researched.
Better to keep your mouth shut and have someone think you're a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

MistressSassy66 -> RE: Are we perverted? (4/4/2006 2:06:02 PM)

I would have to say I'm perverted.

I could have sworn the definition for Fetish is something that you need to get sexually aroused, like feet for example.

I notice she (Gail) didnt mention the effects if its Mom in control and Dad is submissive. Is that not a possibility to her or is it okay for it to be that way?

I have talked with different Doctors about BDSM.The only thing they have concerns over
are people being  abused. They have a Legal obligation to report abuse.
I strongly advise NOT bringing up BDSM with a Shrink you just met...it can be a very fine line in some minds as to what abuse is,and like I said they are legally responsible to report it.Patient / Doctor confidentiality does not apply in all cases.

If you have had an ongoing relationship with a therapist and feel they will understand(I'm lucky that way) then share things.I do admit I still didnt discuss everything, just incase.
In all honesty the only thing it accomplished was awareness, which is great, but not what I was looking for out of the discussion.

amaidiamond -> RE: Are we perverted? (4/6/2006 5:27:39 PM)

I guess that makes me a pervert, ah well - such is life, I never took labels well, unless they are sticky and have your name on at a munch

rivenmoon -> RE: Are we perverted? (4/6/2006 7:49:07 PM)

QUOTE FROM ARTICLE IN QUESTION:.......if you are so obsessed with this activity that you think about nothing else. In that case, it could  be a perversion.

Sooooo it would stand to reason, if your obsessed with sex and think about nothing else whether its 'nilla or kink....
you could be considered perverted.

PERVERTED:      1. Deviating from what is considered right and correct.
(by whose standards depends on where in the world you live)

Folks! that would mean most of the human race at any given moment wouldn't it? Especially teenaged boys.................[:D][:D][:D]
