warmwoman, I don't blame you for feeling dejected. One quick peek at my profile reveals my own negativity, I know. And I'm not 39 - you're 39?? I crossed the dreaded barrier into 40 and I'm NO supermodel, for sure. So, I can relate to much of what you've said here.

I do have to agree with Domiguy and others that the forums are a good place to get to know who you're talking to. I always read through a person's forum posts, male or female, in order to get a better feel for who they are and how they think. With this thread and your profile you might be feeling like there's no going back but Men don't have long memories, glorious creatures though they are!

What I find myself wondering about is that you actually contact Men after reading their profiles. That's great! I mean, you're clearly willing to go after what you're looking for. I can't bring myself to do that. I don't anticipate that anyone sorting through profiles is really looking for anything outside of the stereotypes. By that I mean that women stereotypically go hunting for Men who can take care of them and Men for women they can fuck, pardon the vulgarity. I don't want to fall into either trap so I neither contact nor frequently reply. If it's rude not to respond to a friendly "hello", then I've been rude many times over.

So, when you're perusing profiles and making determinations about who you'll contact, I'm curious as to what you look for. If you're only seeking friendship that may or may not develop into something more serious, how do you determine which Guys you want to engage? And isn't the way in which we make those determinations pretty much the same thing whether it's Men looking for "fuckable" or women looking for relationship material - cause I don't think Men always appreciate the way in which we go about that either and I've been guilty of talking with Men and then ending it myself. I just hate to think I'm a jerk who'd make some Man want to "give up."

There has been some great advice and I think you're far too hard-headed and determined (in the best way) to just give up rather than take from what you've received of value!

Op, I came across your post when you first made it today, 2 different locations before now. I had to get busy with work, so figure I come back later. My mind though wonder what would make a person start a thread about giving up. If you are going to give up, so be it.

Actually giving up in many cases can be a postive experience. I counsel way too many obsessed people looking for the right person year after year that they become obsessed with it. Sometimes a person has to jump off the merry-go-round and see what is in their life now. The more obsess a person gets the more they might become bitter, negative, whining..etc, etc. So that also defeats the looking for process. Let go and heck enjoy your life now, instead of looking outside yourself as if 'all' men are victimizing you.

Now I tend to love to pop delusions. ...smiles. Next month I will be 59. I just last month moved in with Sir. I have know Him for 2 and half years as a friend and a very close one. We never had sex or play, helped living in different states. He and I both had things going on in our life. So at the end of my 58th year, i am now owned by my friend, whom I never had sex with [before] and good grief, we are happy.

I received a CMail from the OP. Apparently she has the erroneous impression that I care what she thinks about my lack of BDSM experience. I am Rule and I do not care.

We are now seventeen pages into the thread. It is quite clear to me why she cannot interest a man and why she never will. I rather doubt that a professional headshrinker can help her either.

As far as I am concerned, it is Oblivion for her. That makes 51, if I recall correctly. Or is it 52?
