Canada can export the cream of their talent crop for the next 10 millenniums to the USA... it will never make up for Celine Dion.

I realise this amounts to little more than an echo...but as a classic rock sort of guy I have always appreciated our neighbors to the north...thier contribution to that particular genre can not be overstated....Canada Rocks!

Like Platinum Blonde? ;-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4SOnBDe7qs This was actually my favourite song when I was 12. It's still pretty good!

I think you mean more like Lover Boy, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E82ozXyNjk

Or some Helix? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_oBjinZQ7k

Oh gosh... I just got such a giggle ;-)

On behalf of all Canadian, DomImus, I apologize.

But in all fairness, she made her first big break when she sang in front of 65 000 people during the papal visit to Montreal in 1984 and so this is another thing I will blame the catholic religion for!

That and it was the Americans who made her famous. She didn't get famous in Canada first like most other artists.

I loved Much Music about 20 years ago, when I was in my headbanger phrase.

Hades, if you look at my collection these days, I am still listening to heavy metal...

See back in the 80s, I was much more of a fan of Brit Pop than Canadian Music. But what was worse to me was French Canadian rock. Till this day, I can count on both hands the bands that I can stomach. French bands from France, well that is another story. I was very grateful for Les Rita Mitsouko and Indochine.

Here's a song that my French teacher used to play for us but she told us it was Canadian. I don't remember the name of it, but I wish I did.
It went something like this:
Chus en amour
Avec une fille
Qui ses noyee entre deux iles

That's all I can remember, but if someone recognized it and knew what it was, that would be awesome!

Done some searching thise lyrics are from a song sang by a group  called Beau Dommage, a 70's rock band from Montreal.

Lyrics are below:

Beau Dommage Beau Dommage
UN INCIDENT À BOIS-DES-FILLION AN INCIDENT AT-THE-WOOD FILLION

It was lost under water with seaweed around the ankle
The head in the air like a reed is quietly disappeared
Elle était là, elle n'y est plus il est neuf heures plage idéale It was there, she is gone it is nine hours ideal range

Nah! I was just really happy that somebody could figure it out that fast! I was really expecting a lot of people to just ignore it or say they don't know, but there you were with the correct answer, instantaneously. Now, though, I can't find it online in any kind of format.

sadly I also tried searching for a video for that song and seems that there isn't one, even tried u-tube with no success other then videos with that use a few songs as the soundtrack. I did see a few videos of the group singing other songs.
