Hi, OP, and welcome. The same thing happened to me last year: a would-be sub who was promising to be all things, but I still felt a bit hinky, so we started slow and vanilla, and I also had him keep a journal. Although some things were very positive and seemed to be progressing, there were some simple tasks he wouldn't do. This sets up red flags, and sure enough, when I was ready to do what he had begged for four months before, he said he wanted to wait. OK. So we went back to vanilla, and he became more disobedient, consciously or unconsciously, in private and in public as well as not completing his journal, until I got a similar speech to the last one you received from your would-be sub, and so it ended. I would not start anything up with him again, and I'm happy with that decision. There isn't anything I would have done differently: I'm still looking, so to close down even further on my rather strict criteria may prevent my recognising my next good sub. I'm glad I listened to my gut instinct that although he was worth a second chance, the relationship hadn't been worth a third, so I'm glad I didn't expand my criteria too far, either. A sigh for the time and effort, the unopened toys go back in the toybox, and 'Next'. As to the vulgar, sadistic, misogynistic or just plain hateful comments from others on here, get used to it. It's a free site, and we're all getting what we paid for. There is no justice, vengeful god or Santa Claus. Yes, we're all individuals, we all have our pet peeves and kinks, anybody can type almost anything [but evidently gods forbid if you double-post! lol], so we can't all get along, and yes, there is a lot of hindleg cocking in this forum in particular. But let us introduce you to our leetle CO friend here: the 'Hide' button. One troll post too many, just press the button under any comment by the bullying perp, and WHOOSH! all their comments are literally hidden, then they're just pissing down their own legs. Faboosh! However, you can still read what they say if someone uses the 'quote' function, so nothing's perfect [shrug], and it's no substitute for a dommely beatdown on their cowardly do-me-/fuck you asses, but it cuts down tracking in so much yellow snow. Bonne chance!
