ParanoidSadist -> Submissive Stereotypes? (3/31/2010 2:15:22 PM)

Serotonin is usually the basis of sadistic or masochistic.

Low serotonin = Sadistic

High serotonin = Submissive

What are some stereotypes? Are there ways to test girls like being bossy and seeing their reaction? Any other testing methods? How common are submissive girls?

Smutmonger -> RE: Submissive Stereotypes? (3/31/2010 2:21:13 PM)

Huh?

Do you have empirical evidence to back this up?

Girls usually react to how you are. Not the acts you put up as a front.

Madame4a -> RE: Submissive Stereotypes? (3/31/2010 2:22:59 PM)

Show your work please.. your basis for this information?  Research? ...

test girls?  what's up with that?

What do you mean? How you act is how you are.

I tried an anti-depressant once and I was submissive. That's basically increased serotonin. But I have low serotonin and I am sadistic. How do I know? I have social anxiety and paranoia. I care about stuff being perfect and even a lot. I love the dark. I am agoraphobic. Etc.

If you make a scientific claim here,be ready to back it up some links to official scientific research. The last thing you want here is to be classed in the "snake oil salesman" category of nutcases.

One person does not make a study.  You are hardly a control group

myotherself -> RE: Submissive Stereotypes? (3/31/2010 2:38:40 PM)

OP - ermmmm...well....I'm a very outgoing, up-beat person who likes to be the life and soul of the party. I'm not shy, paranoid or at all unsure of myself. I have a job which requires me to be outgoing, positive and assertive and I manage it well.

I'm also very submissive, maybe even slave.

Bossy, arrogant guys piss me off. I'm likely to go head to head with them...and win.

Confident, quiet, naturally 'alpha' males with a sense of humour get me damp around the edges.

Nah, don't agree with your hypothesis at all.

Wow, people hate me already. If you don't believe me about serotonin being the basis, go buy some kanna on the net or whatever anti-depressant and see how you submit yourself to people. I didn't try kanna in particular, but it's still just serotonin being increased. Nobody cares to research this stuff because it's so obvious.

myotherself -> RE: Submissive Stereotypes? (3/31/2010 3:10:14 PM)

nope, don't hate you. Don't know or care enough about you to hate you.

But as a scientist, I can tell you your hypothesis is flawed. And if you want us to believe it, give us some evidence instead of throwing out the idea and telling us to go disprove it. We simply don't care enough to do that much work.

ParanoidSadist -> RE: Submissive Stereotypes? (3/31/2010 3:18:35 PM)

I don't care enough to prove it. I've experienced it. If you don't believe me, go ahead and try it. If not, that's fine with me. It's your ignorance. This isn't even what the topic is about. Read the topic title.

I'm following you, man.  It's like this one time I wore a yellow hat and it rained, but then the next day I wore red shoes (my favorite pair of Campers which are OMG totally fab!@) and I heard they had a snowstorm in Vermont.  So needless to say, I never eat strawberry ice cream anymore.  Because of the Mayans.

Keep fighting the good fight.

You can order test girls from this outfit in Texas. They run about $800.

Lockit -> RE: Submissive Stereotypes? (3/31/2010 3:32:39 PM)

Now I have heard everything. Serotonin (is that the correct spelling?) does not make a dominant! Nor does the lack of it make a submissive! Dude... you really are barking up the wrong tree.

I have seriously low serotonin, am not depressed, am not submissive and I have my own personal experience to go on. If your way is correct, then every submissive would be depressed, not sleeping right and would be a dominant out of whack in serotonin levels. Healthy, we would all be dominant!

And I don't have to hate you to disagree with you... and I do disagree with you.

gotta love the internet.. they have everything there...

Low serotonin does not mean depression. I have low serotonin but I'm not depressed. I am very motivated.
Also, you mixed up what I said. Low serotonin = Sadistic, High serotonin = Submissive
