DIE HREAD, DIE!!!

The term SWAT Team was co-opted by business almost as soon as it was coined by the late LAPD Chief Darrel Gates. It has become generic, like the words "Jell-O", "Kleanex", and "Q-tips" - the key difference being that no one has a trademark on SWAT (unless you want to count the TV show of the same name). And it doesn't really matter if you can or cannot find it in a dictionary - it has a common usage. GEEZ! It's fucking symantics! Move on! Now if you want to discuss the "New World Order", that's a whole different thread.

Yanno I saw the interview..I heard SWAT  and went researching simply because it didn't sound right.
 I gave you a page with 60 different acronyms for SWAT... I gave you a page of a company that is called SWAT  that does clean up of oil spills.
Even I as a furrigner know that SWAT is more than just a POLICE big bang team.
The fact that you cannot see other meanings, the fact you jump to conclusions and fall for limpballs et al (drudge,malkin, beck) is testament to your failure to be informed, to stay stupid and arrogant so you can blame  Obama.

Not one word against the company whose fault this is. Not one word against regulations that they seem to just have ignored.
What about the failure of free market to maintain safety standards set out for the protection of workers and the environment?, you want  do away with the EPA .... but not one mention of bad mine owners or mining companies, not one mention of the corner cutting these companies did without thought.
Now you are complaining that Obama didn't do it quick enough, but aren't you the same guys wanting less government intrusion???
Clean oil, clean coal...drill baby drill...... well you are 2 for 2, and not one of  you even slightly ashamed of your ignorance, assumptions and sheer bloody mindedness

There are two reasons not to be smart.

One, mental incapability.. which you dont have.

Two, laziness. Its easier to allow others to think for you. Its easier to believe any wild story than investigate it for yourself.

If you feel you arent smart, you have no one to blame but yourself.

First, the President doesn't have authority to send in local police units unless a state of emergency is declared and martial law imposed.

But the question you keep dodging is why would the President use S.W.A.T. teams when he has elite military units that he could use?

The department deployed SWAT teams from the Minerals Management Service to inspect 30 drilling rigs operating in the deepwater sections of the Gulf of Mexico. Inspections should be completed within the next week, according to an Interior Department spokeswoman.

The acronym is poorly thought out.  It denotes guns and war.  This is an oil spill- not a war.

Most people understand SWAT to be guns,  most folks are not experts in oil spill clean up.
