I don't know if wicca is "technicall" a religion. I don't know of any wiccans getting a tax exempt property status .....like a church does.

I suspect that if you ask 20 different wiccans you will get 20 different answers......just like a christian, jew, muslim or mormon.

Why don't wiccans or the followers of Abraham have the same answers????

Put them all in the same room and I can tell you what you will find......WAR!

Whats a "technicall" religion?

According to the infamous Wikipedia, it seems like Wicca is a religion ...

Wicca is a Neopagan religion and a form of modern witchcraft. It is often referred to as Witchcraft or the Craft by its adherents...

Wicca is typically a duotheistic religion, worshipping a Goddess and a God, who are traditionally viewed as the Triple Goddess and Horned God. These two deities are often viewed as being facets of a greater pantheistic Godhead, and as manifesting themselves as various polytheistic deities. Nonetheless, there are also other theological positions within the Craft, ranging from monotheism to atheism. ...

There are various different denominations within Witchcraft, which are referred to as traditions ...

For example - there is no objective evidence for an afterlife. There is anecdotal evidence (ghost sightings, near-death experiences, etc.) but this cannot be substantiated (unless, of course, you yourself have seen a ghost or had an out-of-body experience or whatever). Absent such first-hand experience, to say that there is definitely not an afterlife is as much an act of faith as saying that there definitely is.

Which is why I am a de facto atheist, a very low probability but short of zero. I'm not interested in trying to make a statement true or false of something I don't have proof of. In fact, it's not that important to me to worry about these things and it's a distraction from what is happening in the present, here and now.

That's my opinion of course :-)

The Jewish thing is a lot more complicated, but in the case of Wiccans, the reason for the lack of homogenity is because it's a religion that Gardner invented from scratch in the '40s because he had a taste for femdom and/or found the hermetic tradition far too male for his tastes.
Since then, the Wiccan religion has been advanced by various independent gurus who have no interest in whether what they say is consistent with others' approach, and in a few cases are viciously opposed to rival types. The whole set up is (perhaps inevitably given its genesis) a lot more remiscent of chaos magic than a religion.
