Hey there, just one thought to those suffering from a chronic lack of experience. maturity and tact who announce their ICK! factor regarding age, and their horror of finding a message from anyone old enough to remember the original A team.
Every day, in every way, you are getting OLDER!
Soon enough, you'll know exactly how it feels.
Kinda makes me smile.
Just my observation and happy thought for today.

Thank you for your sense of humour. I enjoyed starting my day with a giggle and smile.

But who really wants a 20 year old bimbo?

I like to converse.   So that wont cut it.

DesFIP -> RE: Ageist profiles (6/1/2010 4:13:11 AM)

It isn't ageist to not want to have sex with someone old enough to be your father. It is a personal preference.

Ageism, or any other ism only occurs when you violate laws. If you tried to pass a law saying no one over the age of 45 could date, that would be ageism. But having personal preferences is perfectly normal. As is saying you are only interested in people who share your love of steampunk.

GreedyTop -> RE: Ageist profiles (6/1/2010 4:19:22 AM)

what's steampunk?

*feels old*

Tantriqu -> RE: Ageist profiles (6/1/2010 4:21:30 AM)

Ten or so years older than myself is my personal theoretical limit, yet since I find younger men are less sexist, I've only dated men under 40. As above, not ageism but personal preference.
I find men in their 60's who complain about ageism when I say 'no thanks' have NEVER dated their equivalent, i.e., women in their 80's, so pot/kettle.

Level -> RE: Ageist profiles (6/1/2010 4:22:38 AM)

*reaches over and feels GT*

Nah, don't feel old to me!

DesFIP -> RE: Ageist profiles (6/1/2010 4:23:33 AM)

lol. I'm betting the op doesn't routinely chase after women his mother's age either, only those his children's age. So true.

Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction and speculative fiction, frequently featuring elements of fantasy, that came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used — usually the 19th century, and often Victorian era Britain[citation needed] — but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date.

Pretty good definition from wiki.

hey when I was 20 guys who were 35 were FUN!

Now that I am 46, guys who are 35 are fun.

Profiles that say- No this and no that- and no games-   are like?  what else is on line??

myotherself -> RE: Ageist profiles (6/1/2010 4:41:48 AM)

I prefer to date men around my own age, give or take half a decade.

This decision is not set in stone, but from previous experiences I find I relate better to men who have the same kind of life experience as myself [:D]

sunshinemiss -> RE: Ageist profiles (6/1/2010 4:58:49 AM)

Age is an attitude in many ways.

Somehow my attitude has been wearing bifocals for about a year. But I got the no line kind, so nobody knows.

shhhhhhh.
