Master Sir has given me the assignment of finding music that is appropriate for sceneing. He told me that someone else told Him of some type of chanting. i was wondering if there were any particuliar artists or cd's that i could find or even make myself of music that would be great for a surrender scene. the music doesnt have to have lyrics. Master Sir said it should not be distracting either. i was just wondering if A/anyone had an opinions. thank Y/you. please be well.

Enigma has released CDs with modified Gregorian chants. They have electrified the music and added a nice beat to it. Before they released their CD I had several cassettes (yes I am dating myself) that had Gregorian chants recorded. They did not have the "modern" sound but they still worked nicely for scenes and especially for roleplayes of a religous nature.

my favorite scene music is mostly good for a scene involving pain or at least contact with the flesh for its beat.  It's on the Cirque Du Soliel Vareka Bonus CD Track #6.

Depending on your moods:

Sarah Brigtman - "La Luna"

"John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman" (one of the most famous jazz albums of all time)

Julie Cruise - "Floating Into The Night"

Peter Gabrielle - "Music From The Last Temptation of Christ"

John Williams - "Classical Guitar (something or other - 2 CD set recorded when he was 18 years old (search those terms on Google, etc.)

Ephraim Lewis - "Skin" (hard to find, try Amazon)

you should be able to find a listen to most, if not all, of selections from these CDs.

Ooooh!  Vivaldi is good.  Four Seasons is excellent for scening.
 
Master and I are, alternately, heavily into the haunted-house style sounds of Midnight Syndicate and Metallica's S&M.  If I want pain (either giving OR receiving), it's S&M.  For fear-based or sensual play, it's one of several Midnight Syndicate cds.

Venus In Furs (choose your own artist here basically--Velvet Underground, The Creatures, etc)

before I the whole gor thing I was in a scene and the Dom had classical on and it was so loud with a blind fold on me. So not only could I not see anything, I couldnt hear what was about to happen....it was so hot lol

Juno Reactor "Bible of Dreams" cd...

just FYI..this is the artist that did the music for the Matrix movies.  This particular cd has some wonderful rhythm patterns that make it easy to blend a scene around.. there is some hard..some not so hard and no lyrics.  I have gotten to where just hearing the cd will put me in subspace LOL

You will need to purchase this one off the internet as I dont believe it is available in very many stores.

Ahh, I often use the CD's from the Matrix movies as scene music.

i think in all 15 of the treads that LA posted the links too i have said TOOL but then thats not chanting, and id go mainly with their mainstream stuff the artistic stuff is odd in ways that wouldnt mesh with scening.

if you are being defiant one night look up "Der Trommler" on your favorite file sharing program

or maybe not he might attempt it....

Ok, let's see....

Peter Gabriel's Passion , which is the soundtrack to the movie, The Last Temptation of Christ. Also by Peter Gabriel, the soundtrack to the movie Birdy. He produced several great things with Afro Celt Sound System as well, but I don't know names of albums right offhand.

The Sneaker Pimps, especially the song "Take Me Down (Six Under Ground)".

Portishead is always a good choice, and one of my particular favorites is the album Dummy.  On that album, there is a fantastic song called "Biscuit," a snippit of whose lyrics include:


Ohh sensation
Sin, slave of sensation

Great stuff!

Dead Can Dance's entire collection of work, but particularly their Into the Labyrinth, Toward The Within and Spirit Chasers albums.

Of course, we can't leave off The Prodigy's album, Fat of the Land, which includes the (in)famous "Smack My Bitch Up." That's certainly NOT an unintrusive song, but makes for great background music with certain scenes.

And no list of good BDSM music would be complete without the soundtrack to Clockwork Orange, which includes such standbys as "The Thieving Magpie;" Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Fourth Movement; "Pomp and Circumstance;" "Timesteps;" "Overture to the Sun;" Gene Kelly's "Singin' in the Rain;" "William Tell Overture;" and many more. (Geez, sounds like an ad for one of those old K-Tel records.)

Depending again on mood and what you're going for, anything by Nine Inch Nails, or Tool can make for a very dark space. If you're into blood play, Concrete Blonde's Bloodletting is always good. Of course, I'm a bit partial to that one b/c I'm from LA and it mentions vampires in New Orleans. Go figure.

Those are all that come to mind right now, but there are so very many more. I'll think on it and try to post more later.
