LadyKim -> RE: Male vs Female Dominants...is it just me? (4/11/2006 10:07:07 PM)

spankmepink11,

It is important to remember that there is a difference when it comes to genders.  Females and males find their validation in different things, so there is going to be a difference in how a male dominates vs how a female does.  It is also important to remember that men are physically stronger than women, so it takes a different strength (and projection of that that strength) in order for a male to feel he needs to surrender to a female.

It requires understanding the differences in where men and women find their validation in order to understand what is behind the notion of female supremacy.  It isn't that men are preceived as being substandard or third world citizens.  It is the understanding that men find a great deal of their validation in their sexuality.  Females are the keepers of the gene pool throughout all species which means they have the final selection on whom they will breed with in order to pass on the genetics to the next generation.  A lioness will actually force her body to miscarry a cub of an alpha lion that has been defeated and kill any young cups sired by that dethroned alpha in order to prevent those genes which are now inferior to someone elses from being passed on to future generations.  Her body will also immediately go into heat in order to mate with the new alpha with the superior genetic material.  I'm not saying men aren't selective, because they do have their own criteria; however, it is a woman's choice (outside of rape) of who she is going to have sex with.  It is in that arena that women have an advantage over men which is part of the cornerstone for female supremacy.  It isn't just thinking that one gender is better than the other.

Confidence is something that is required in dominants.  Women are more inclined towards being nurturers and seek security and safety.  So male dominants are more apt to appeal to those needs when seeking a female submissive; however, male submissives need to know the female dominant is goign to hold them accountable and exert strength over him in a way that is more than physical.  It isn't that female dominants are man haters.  As a female dominant, I can say I TRULY LOVE those of the male gender.  While a female submissive can feel 'taken' by a dominant man because of his physical strength, a male sub needs more of the psychological projection of strength in order to feel taken.

Take the time to read through male profiles.  They are seeking a Goddess, Queen, Princess type.  These are all authority figures that require the male to do what pleases them or face the consequences.  Royals are historically not overly concerned with how their subjects feel about something.  (Of course, there are always exceptions to any rule.)  The ones that are looking for more of a mother type personality still see the woman as a disciplinary authoritarian.   Male submissives need to feel the woman has that authority in order to submit to being put into a position of being helpless.  Female submissives know that in general most male doms can secure them even if they put up a struggle.

So, I can't say I agree with your perception of the differences in male and female dominants.  I know I am a very nurturing, caring, compassionate person ......... even with a submissive; however, I am also capable of being a taxing and strict sadist when I wish to be.  One does not prevent the other.

Bravo, bravo.[sm=applause.gif]

So eloquently put.  You've nailed it exactly.  Thank you.

I think it just depends on the P/people involved really. There are good and bad apples in every bunch some are sweeter while others are more sour...

No doubt about it—there are double-standards between the sexes in the practice. While I may disagree with the supposition that dominant females are less nurturing to their submissive males, they do seem to enjoy a gamut of concepts and behaviors that at times extend beyond what is widely allowed for males in the same subculture. Collarme.com is no exception, in fact. A simple glance at their selectable "lifestyle" interests section makes female supremacy readily available, but male supremacy is of course absent—despite the fair suggestion to add it in the past.

It's not really a big deal, however. I think many males see the disparities, but most really don't care.

The female supremacists I've actually known are no less nurturing towards their subs than anyone else. We are - after all - dealing with fantasy here and - sociopaths aside (and they are thankfully very rare) - underneath the fantasy they're just human beings with a full complement of human desires and emotions.

MsSophie -> RE: Male vs Female Dominants...is it just me? (4/12/2006 1:05:03 AM)

Personally I don't buy into that anyone is worth more, or less, than anyone else - so I would never call myself a female supremacist. However, I would lie if I didn't admit there are days when I truly hate men, in general, and male subs, in particular. Today is one of those days.

Having said that, I actually love men most of the time. All these men, who are living under such an enormous stress of being both Superman, the strong family provider, and fuzz-daddy, the soft nurturing and caring father of fifteen. I adore my sissy-boys, my adult babies and my caring subs who live only to hear someone say they have been good.

So, am I a female supremacist? No!
Do I hate men? Sometimes. I know it's unfair to 70% of the male species, but I really do sometimes.

Because a large number of them let their pricks do all of their thinking! I'll leave it to Sophie to elaborate on that when she's stopped seething. If she wants to do so, of course.

I don't know about her, but I'm an equal opportunity hater and just hate 70% of the population in general.

I've noticed that too, but in the same respect there are lots of interests in a male dominants list that are not in a females...

quote:

To be honest, I've noticed more pronounced differences between male and female SUBS than between male and female doms.

I agree... And we don't normally agree LaM... who are you and what have you done with our LaM? lol

What I have found in the profiles on the whole is that a HUGE number of Dommes are looking for generous slaves, many stipulate that there is no commitment on her part, and that men are nothing more than animals to be abused.  I do not know if that is generally the case, as I only search Canadian profiles.

I've noticed that too benji, yes, I have on occasion browsed the female dominant profiles just out of curiousity.

And you only search Canadian profiles??? I'm devastated, heartbroken and all that happy crap... lol

I had such high hopes.

Anyway, I agree with so many others here. I'm don't go for that female supremacy crap either, I'm with fergus here, men and women are different and oh how I love those differences. But neither gender is supreme over the other.

I've observed, and please....this is not an attack on anyone, that  most  Female dominants seem to subscribe to the premise of females being a supierior being, and tend  to have a general sense of disdain for the males in general....to the point of cruelty....but...if involved with a woman.....the dynamic is more along the lines of the way a  Male dominant will treat His female........there just seems to more of an underlying nurturing....and concern for ones well being in the Male Dom/female sub relationship.
I was really just curious if this is something others have noticed....and hope no one takes personal offense...I've always wanted  other s opinions and input on this particular topic.
thanks....

I am glad to see you used the word most, but sweeping stereotypes still make me cringe. I do not hold any male in disdain...certainly not my sub. I would describe myself as quite cruel and quite sadistic.. so I am a nurturing sadists...if we are searchiung for labels?

FLsubmalecd -> RE: Male vs Female Dominants...is it just me? (4/12/2006 7:13:06 AM)

I have to agree with most that have commented. I don't see a big difference in the way a female Dominant and a male Dominant feel about their subs. I am not including the Pro Dommes since I'm answering with lifestyle D/s relationships as my own interest and focus. Nothing against the pros. My past Domme was very loving and cared very much about issues concerning my own well being. She cared more about my health issues then I did. If it was not for her, I would not have gone to the doctor and discovered that I had a minor heart attack. Had it not been for her concern, I might not be here.
But what I do see is many male subs that seem to want to be treated as some sort of second class citizen with statements like, " I am a low dog, not worthy of your time"....or.... Mistress, let me be your pig etc. etc. etc.
It turns me off to see guys that call themselves subs, to think of themselves that way and want to be treated in a harsh uncaring fashion. To me these are just guys that want to role play for sexual gratification and could care less about the Domme or a relationship. Kind of shallow at best. Gives us true subs a bad image. In the same vain, I am a cross dresser. I see many cross dressers that are also subs. Must be some connection there. But I hate the term often used,  " sissy". It has nothing but bad connotations to me. I am far from being a sissy! So again, they give us cross dressing subs a bad image too. Maybe sissy means something else to others. But not a good term to me.
Back on topic....I see many Dommes that seem to be looking for a real relationship with an equal yet submissive partner. Have not found one yet, but the search continues. I just did a thread on why so many want more then one sub. That is something it seems male Doms  want too. Why so many that just want to add to their stable? Where are the ones that want only one sub?
Oops! Off topic again. Sorry.

I do consider myself SUPERIOR in some ways to males but that is not to say that I dislike them.  I have had a difficult time trying to find male slaves that desire to be nurtured (not nursed)..most that I encounter continually request to be used as dirt under my feet,  they request to be abused etc....when I explain to them that the HUMAN ELEMENT of a slave is important to me, they seem to be disappointed...some have even gone as far as calling me a fake DOMINANT....It's all good because each and every individual has their own style that works for them.  I think the reason some women portray being cruel and evil is because that is what is requested of them by the submissive males and they feel that is what will get them a sub.

Well, maybe I would find women equally despicable if they treated me like a mindless object, with no feelings, and with such a complete lack of respect towards my time and person. Fortunately this has never happened, so far.

It may not be a good reason to dislike, but you can only spit on a rock for so long before it is wet.

mistressaerin -> RE: Male vs Female Dominants...is it just me? (4/12/2006 7:30:33 AM)

Goddess BBBTBW, I know exactly what you mean on being called "fake" because One would not treat a submissive like dirt. Not all Dominants are harsh and heartless. Nor is there anything wrong w/the ones who practice a heavy hand.  I think there is a Dominant for everyone to find. But to try and force a Dominant to practice in a manner not to Her desire, well, I do not think that is a real submissive/slave manner. If it is clearly stated in the Dominants profile their desires then the sub and or slave should look elsewhere to find a match.

Lashra -> RE: Male vs Female Dominants...is it just me? (4/12/2006 7:50:36 AM)

This is generally not true, speaking as a female Dom I respect males and see them as equals as long as they view me in the same light. Each relationship is different some males don't want a female Dom to respect them or treat them as a equal just as it is in male Dom relationships.

Yes there are some female supremists just like there are some male supremists each person is different and generalizations are often wrong. I've known some hardcore from each camp and I think frankly they are just wrong.

To say ALL female Dom's don't respect all men is like saying blacks all like fried chicken it simply ain't so, my best friend is black and she HATES fried chicken [:)]

I love and adore my sub, I consider him an equal when we aren't playing. IF we are playing he is my sub and my slut, he likes being humilated and part of that is telling him what dumbass man he is lol But I do I mean that? Heck no its just to humilate him.

I must be reading a different forum again. I read headline of this thread and thought.. WTF. I don't see this going on. Then I read your post, and still don't see it. Now unless you been reading alot of that twits Jessykapower threads, who has since disappeared when being outted. But the Dommes i've seen posting on here, do not stike me as having supremacy problems. A Dom or two I think do, but that varies from post to post with them too. One post they will, the next they don't.

Ok, I just looked back again to some of the other post as well. And I see others seeing it in other threads like Ask a Mistress. I read some of those post but not a lot of them. As with Ask a Dom/Master. I don't read that one much either unless someone tells me there's a thread I should check out. In either of them actually. But as for the main forum here, no I don't see it. Perhaps I should read the other threads more than I do.

I agree, though I should say not everyone considers what they do strictly a fantasy. With many it is a very real way of life. I include myself in that area.
