ORIGINAL: Madame4a Funnily enough... I can't figure out why you won't directly answer the question. I just reread what you wrote and I'll just make an assumption, because I didn't want to assume before. I'm a dolt, I suppose. For everyone else, yes, its not a magic bullet, yes, diet and exercise works best, but this helps. Yes, you do need to get into a good program where you get support for WHY you eat.. again, this helps... you don't do it in a vaccum. You missed my point and made the assumption that i am saying this type of surgery isnt worth it. Thats not at all what i said, or what i am indicating. I have NOT had the surgery, my son has. Which is what i said in my previous post. I am also an RN who asked the questions, demanded the answers, and dug until i felt comfortable for what my son with a severe cardiac condition was about to go through. I weighed the risks and benefits, consulted with many, and simply shared the knowledge that while the body may, on the outside, look great, years of bad eating habits still lurk within. IF you have no lingering damage, then good for you! That isnt the majority of the cases.
