ORIGINAL: LadyNTrainer The amount of time and energy it takes to disengage with someone whose interest you have knowingly encouraged can be quite considerable, unless you are willing to be flat out rude to people. And if you are, that can create additional problems and drama for you down the road, especially in a small community. Fantasies of instant D/s connections with sexy strangers aside, generally it's just not freakin' worth the annoyance factor when you realize that your impulsiveness just earned you a semi-stalker who is a massively boring PITA. Easy fix: Do the push-pull routine, but in reverse. "Holy shit, I've had fun talking to you. But I've been doing all the talking/I've been doing all the flirting/I've been engaging you and I just don't have time for this. I mean you're cool and all that, but I'm not interested and it's not fair to you to keep chatting when you could be finding someone who's available, you know? No punch buggy, I've got to disengage now, don't hate me." ...Of course use your own words, that routine probably wouldn't make it out of your mouth in a straight line if you tried it. It may seem rude to get to the point like that, and sometimes it would be - but mostly, it's not rude at all, especially if you phrase it in the context of having wanked off with them with no happy ending, so it's time to stop so they can go find one. If it turns into a 'friends' conversation, disengage anyway. Then if you really want to be friends and continue such awe inspiring conversational magic, wander back. But put some distance in first to reinforce the friends only motif.
