How in the name of god does anyone "menacingly suggest" that someplace might make a good spot for a ski lodge?

Welcome to the Democrat controlled economy. Welcome to "A Summer of Recovery".

There are strict laws surrounding the use of public lands, and National Parks have some of the strictest land use restrictions that practically take an act of congress to remove. My family had land in a National Park, and before my grandfather sold his it was almost impossible for him to get permission to improve his land, etc... and he owned it.

I just think this story sounds like a crock of shit, and perhaps the Guardian does not understand how our park system works, or how our states work in conjunction with fed land...

Seriously, I doubt highly this story has any teeth whatsoever

The problem is, parts of Grand Teton are actually  state land. They may very well be  able to do anything they want with it, up to and including carving a new Mount Rushmore with Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Glenn Beck.

Which actually might be sorta cool, if you think about it.

I lived in Jackson Hole when I was a tender 20 year old. There are state lands that lead up to the tetons, but the tetons are federally owned. I believe the state runs the elk preserve, etc. If they decide to sell that land, go them! I am sure the citizens of Jackson Hole will be completely pissed off over that and they will probably not reelect the government that does it...

You miss this part?

Washington says it is negotiating, but Freudenthal says the issue has dragged on for a decade.

A decade ago, Obama was still wearing short pants and attending jihad classes at Saddam Huessin's private fundamentalist madras in Baghdad. This isn't an Obama issue; it just happens to be coming to a head at this particular time.

You lived in Jackson Hole??!? Holy christ! How cool is that? Man, you must miss it about every 3 and a half minutes.

I thought I remembered that the state owned some of the land in the mountains themselves, but I may be wrong. But yeah, I completely agree that this is just posturing and positioning. I very much doubt it'll ever come to anything.

You're assuming Insanity understands basic concepts of math. Funny.

He has a position of blaming a decade old issue on current leadership then posts a cartoon satirising the same approach. Sometimes his hypocrisy gets him all confuddled.
