ORIGINAL: SorceressJ Right on, Icky; -THIS- is a thread I can get into. I am a many-times-over lifelong animal lover and pet parent (mostly cats, some dogs, and a few random varmints like rats, turtles, snakes and fish) and also, my husband and I do wildlife damage control for our state. Last fall, several wonderful people on this site shared my sorrow with me when I lost my sweetheart, a rescue baby named Foamy who happened to be a squirrel. In the last year, I have had the care of the aforementioned squirrel, a duck, two blacksnakes, a baby robin, two raccoons (one of whom was a newborn who did not make it, the other still lives with us, being fat and healthy but not able to care for himself in the wild), and several oppossums. Current furry headcount: four adult cats, five kittens, four white rats (one of whom just gave birth yesterday morning), and one whirling dervish, I mean raccoon, name of Reno. Please send cheezburgers. Lol. You've got a miniature petting zoo there huh? Did you have a lot of pets as a kid as well? I did and I remember those times fondly. We had a flying squirrel when I was about 10 that was named Rocky. My stepfather rescued him from 4 neighborhood dogs. He actually jumped in the middle of them while they were in a frenzy and received a few bites for his trouble. What a trip that squirrel was. My Mom didn't like it too well but she put up with Rocky..(He used to fly right for her bouffant hairdo every time..She loved that let me tell ya lol.) We also had a pig, raccoon, dogs, horses and goats.
